Alexis Alejandro Sánchez

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

i'd agree in that theo's finishing is usually a bit more clinical then the ox. that said i still rate ox as a starter, no question.

Alexis offers a lot but you have to remember that last season has was playing with Messi and Neymar. So obviously he will struggle to adapt. He has the technical ability and skill but I think time is what he needs.

Never seen a player in an Arsenal shirt as hardworking, dedicated, determined, full of energy and hunger, combined with the supreme skill and natural ability as what this man has in abundance. Usually players as talented as him would be less inclined to work their bollox off the way he does every game. He's always at 100%, whether it's the first minute or the last minute of the match the guy plays like a man possessed. He's made an incredible impact and there is much more to come as well. His leadership and winning mentality is exactly what we've been crying out for. I hope his attitude rubs off on the rest of the players and in fact I've noticed the likes of Ox have started taking a leaf out of his book. Best signing since Sol Campbell in 2001.

Other than the first sentence, agree with every word. This is the best signing we've made in years. I'm going to enjoy every bit of watching him in an Arsenal shirt because he's here for a visit.

Wonder how long after he joins Chelski our fans rebrand him "Alexi$ $anch€z"?
He's top class, so like RVP and Cesc before him, won't hang about.

Liverpool fans saying the same about Suarez last season. And where is he now? In 12 months time you will be calling him a greedy bastard when he joins a club with ambition not just finishing 4th

Right, so let's not enjoy having him here because of some unfounded fear that he won't be hanging around too long.

Why do we even watch football and follow Arsenal? Any half decent player we have will be snapped up eventually.

Come to think of it why should we enjoy life? We're all gonna die at some point.

As good as Aguero and will be as good as Suarez imho. Joy to watch....and he works his nads off. Be interesting to see him, Walcott and Welbeck really let loose....on the premise we can stop fucking about in midfield and defend well every now and then.

Main thing for me is how he fits into our style of play, or I shall rephrase that, what our style of play can be when it works well.

It needs tempo and movement, and he provides them both.

So too does Welbeck, mostly, though not as clinical or accomplished as Sanchez.

Can Ozil fit with it though?

He is a very fast passer, one of the best the game has ever seen.
BUT he lacks the short snappy runs that we need to keep our pressure on and simply has not performed well for us for any length of time.
I feel Ozil would fit in better with Man Utd's style of play.

Sanchez is quality. If only we had more quality around him. :|

Interesting comments from Theo Theo over the weekend. Apparently Sanchez is not just full on for games but is also a committed trainer and is always "on". Theo and his Gunners colleagues are always saying to Sanchez to ease off or he'll be knackered by January.

Good advice or a sign of inherent laziness from the other players? :rubchin:

Watching the game Saturday I wondered what Sanchez must be thinking..he was literally breaking his bollix for the team despite being the best technical player on the pitch also. Glad he never played with Eboue, Song or Gervinho. At Barca he was another special player. At Arsenal he is the outstanding performer. This will not go unnoticed by Real, Bayern and the big two in England. The lad is so obviously a winner and a fighter , my fear is he won't see enough of those qualities in his current club and team mates.
