The Banner

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

What gives pro Wenger supporters the right to threaten violence against others who don't agree with their views? Why are they so intolerant against anyone who disagrees with them?

So it's alight for some to have pro Wenger banners but others with a different viewpoint are told to take them down??

I personally would rather have a banner against the board, but if the supporters wish to have this issue brought to bear then so be it. Because the
situation is reaching boiling point.

Afterwards everyone can turn on the board, apart from any total idiot supporters who like being totally screwed by the current corrupt owners!!! :banghead: :banghead:

It not just that mate, its passion. People are passionate about their club and their feelings. And so passion can boil over.

I commend swl for doing something, and trying to send a real message of anger and dissatisfaction at the club. I may not agree with the sentiment, but im proud the guy is actually doing something active to get this point across.

But I have a feeling that you may get a worse reaction than you expect mick( ). There are an awful lot of the old school that are so pro-arsenal whatever, just support the team/club no matter what. Was out with a good mate today who works with a couple of old school life long gooner, go every game home/away/abroad all follow em pre-season too. The minute i mentioned the banner my mate immediatly brought the two guys up and basically said these old boys would go fucking mental if they saw that.

I also have the feeling you'll probably get a few coked up dyer wannabes looking to show off too.

Basically be carefull mate. And make sure you are surrounded by those who are behind you. Just bundle in a section where your all together. I honestly think you are going to get a lot more hassle than your expecting. And maybe it is better to only show it if we're behind and things are going bad. Just imagine you show it before ko at chelski, and we win 3-0. It'll go down as a massive cock up. And the media will have a feild day with it, in the opposite way you want.

As I've said before you'll become known as the marmite Arsenal Fan. But fair play mate!!! 8)

Nice banner; direct and to the point without being abusive.

If and when you guys plan to reveal the banner, please use PMs, emails or some other form of private communication because you can bet your arse that there are c*nts out there who will either attempt to disrupt the reveal, contact the club and alert them to its presence so they may take counter measures or try to confront you before the reveal (really doubt this as despite being internet warriors they are cowards in real life).

Just keep in mind that this forum is read by all sorts and planning should be discreet.

I'm only posting at ten to four in the mornung because iom fucked out me face. Anyway, that aside, i think if the lad ewants to make his point he should do it before kick off. If atsenal go 3-0 up and he takes it down itd look daft, but if he kept it up it wqould show that depsite a good result (3-0 at chelsea is a mint result, we done it last season, thoroughly enjoyed  ), he still wants wenger gone. If it only gfoes up when behind it'll look like a sort of pre planned knee jerk reaction

Anyeway, dont listen to anyone having a go at you marra, youre entitled to say what you want, your message isnt abusinve so those criticising it shjouldnt be abusive either. They will be like, but just tell them to fuck off.

Still think wenger isnt the right target mind, but still, youre the gooner, its your call

It's not even on my phone keyboard SAFCFTM. Weird.

Yeah... We'll see. I obviously will not be giving out details of how it is going to be done. We will have numbers behind us though. Aiming to get about twenty lads all standing together for the unveiling.

Euro 2012 qual. - Papers: Wenger set for England job?

....

A surprise development in the Emirates tumult is that angry Arsenal fans apparently plan to protest against Wenger when the Gunners host Sunderland next Sunday.

A new protest group, ArsenalFCnotPLC, are to use banners in the game to let the club know their feelings, reports the Mirror. It quotes season ticket holder Chris Adsett: “Put simply it is not good enough for Arsenal. We are on a downward spiral and this needs to be addressed. Arsenal fans love and admire Wenger for what he has done, but that was then, this is now. We need a new face and new impetus, and soon.â€

Who the hell is Chris Adsett? I have provided quotes for journos, but not that, and why does he think we will have the banner at SAFC? :?

Former Arsenal hero Giovanni van Bronckhorst has warned the fans against driving Wenger out.

He said: “Wenger is an institution. Look what he’s achieved.

“Arsenal football club IS Arsene Wenger.

No, but I would imagine they'd use the quotes we gave them instead of using some bloke who, to my knowledge, is not connected with FCnotPLC or the banner.
