Bindippers at home

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Last season we won 9 points from these equivalent fixtures. We're already 5 points behind a better side that has played tougher fixtures. So much for progress and turning a corner. So much for sustaining a title challenge beyond the first month of the season.

I wonder what excuse the Wenger apologists will pick out of that magic hat now.

Same points as Chelsea after 3 games. Better than last season :D

That was a horror show. First have was comical in our inability to pass the ball and leaving Coquelin and the defence exposed; whereas second half was like pulling teeth the way we ran out of space and ideas at the edge of their box. :|

I'm not saying this is the only reason we didn't score again, but we started with the ineffectual tall man with no pace (denying us the chance to stretch Liverpool) and then swapped him for the little man with just pace, leaving us with no target man of any sort for the last 20 mins.

Dreadful yet familiar.
Exactly - we have only 1 striker in the entire squad who can play in this formation.....so rather than go 2 up top at the death we're treated to 15 mins of free headers for Skrtel and a bloke who can't play with his back to goal if his life depended on it. This is precisely why signing anyone other than a Dzeko type player who can fit in this role is pointless. Benzema would have had fuck all impact playing up front on his own against that brick wall at the end.

As for Ramsey out wide - how long do we have to suffer this. He was fucking dire today

My money is on;

Efficient
Lacked little bit sharpness
Changes unsettled the balance of the team little bit
Overall I believe that we came back well
The answer is not always to buy

turned up the opening day and like everyone they expected to destroy west ham, and when we got beat it knocked our confidence. any strong minded team would have been wounded and would have been going out and playing angry. but were trying to play too cool. play it simpleFFS

This team couldn't get 80pts let alone 86+ to win a title.

Yes Cech showed that he is still a world class goal keeper. He owed us.

Hope nobody gets too upset, you all know in general how the season will pan out. We'll hit some form after the Chelsea loss and get around 75pts to secure another CL campaign. It's what all the Arsene Wenger data has taught us over these years and it would be foolish to expect more.

Exactly what will happen. I think we'll be fucking around in 8th or 9th for a few weeks. A few people will come on here saying how this year we definitely won't make the Be All and End All, before we go on a rampage swatting aside West Brom, Norwich, Watford and Villa pre-Xmas to set up that amazing, pant wetting May final day experience

I don't think it's that. We just approach home games all wrong.

Teams sit back and deny us space, which sadly is all it takes against us as we play so ridiculously narrow and so much tippy tappy football. How many times tonight did we get to the edge of their box and then grind to a halt, pass backwards or sideways?

We also don't defend as a team at home; instead thinking we can overrun teams. Sadly, that exposes us in defence like tonight, and against West Ham and Monaco.

We suit away games better as we can hit teams on the break more and the fact we concentrate more means we don't lose our shape as easily.

Let's also not overlook the fact that in 3 games, our own players have scored 1 goal between them.

Fair play to Coq tonight, as well as Cech, did us proud. :D
