city away thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Bar 11 lads doing there own thing has anyone a clue as to the purpose of our play? I couldn't for the life of me describe to you Arsenal's "style of play".

Giroud shoudn't even be on the pitch - but whilst he is - The Gooners support the Team.
But then the line is blurred. Giroud shouldnt be on the pitch but he is because the leader of the regime (who shows complete contempt for the fans) has picked him .... and so singing Girouds name after he scores sounds to me like some form of vindication at that decision

I'm not calling for players to be abused but sing Arsenal songs instead of player songs would be my preference at the moment.

Absolutely with you clash - I am all for celebrating a goal, but singing a c.unts name after going 15 games without scoring is ridiculous and is basically celebrating averageness imo   Cupping his ear last week merited a swift kick in the balls rather than singing his name too
Rubbish!! Yes he did big it up like an idiot! But supporting the team/players whilst they are scoring! wtf !!is wrong with that?
I hate wonker and the board etc. But will always support a player if he scores a goal for us!
I'd say that, based on last week, it's pretty clear that Giroud has no respect for the fans, so why should the fans respect him?

It should be a two-way street. The fact that it isn't, and that fans are happy to bend over and be done up the shitter, is exactly why the club will continue to exploit them for years to come (both mentally and financially).
Get another manger in there and Giroud would be out straight away and sold if possible

I truly believe he tells them nothing prior to the game....his man management is to not speak to them and give them a day off when they play crap and loose

Its not often we agree on something.....and whilst I wouldn't say he's shit, he's completely overrated by Gooners who are just desperate for a half decent keeper after The Three Stooges.

Was supposed to win us the title and gain us 10 points......I can think of at least as many that he's dropped. I think he's still going down in instalments now to that Bolasie shot against Palace

I really wish Giroud hadn't scored our goal anyone but him. He'll think he's the dogs whotsits now.
Yes my feelings too.
That goal probably means we are stuck with him next season too

Lets get it right about Giroud, he requires crosses and corners direct to him for flicks or headers of which he can be effective, BUT our play as dictated by our manager is meant to be about quick passing and movement something of which Giroud is totally ineffective, as he is static .....
again Wenger goes for the square peg in the round hole, basically because he does not know what he is doing

Perhaps, but he's clearly the best 'keeper we've had since Lehmann left, and he hasn't made anywhere near the amount of monumental fuck-ups witnessed by the likes of Almunia, Mannone and Szczesny (among others).

Not sure why you're so harsh on him, tbh. If it's because he was the only signing last summer and that fans overreacted at the news, then you should probably take out your frustrations on Wenger and/or the fans, rather than Cech.

Dont know ask the away fans. I dont think alot of fans are happy to be "done ...etc. What are the away fans going to do, go and sit on their hands? He scored!! What would you do, Boo!! I want Wenger gone! Stan gone! A new board. Alot of the players gone! But whilst they are here, and playing for Arsenal? If they play shit, then vent it! But if someone has scored, for your team!! i just dont get the logic in not cheering or showing appreciation! If Giroud goes in summer i would be happy to see the back of him. But whilst when he scores for the club, what is wrong if some wants to chant his name. I wouldnt myself necessarily, but dont begrudge those who would. Some fans take things personally when there is no real reason. So he cupped his ear FFS! So what, making it sound like he shagged someones missus in front of their grannie.

so many of our passes are completely pointless as they achieve nothing, we don't get further up the pitch and they invariably end up going backwards till we lose possession.
