That was a hard watch, it really was but I'm glad to take the 3 points especially at Old Toilet where we've been very poor in the past.
Even Roy Keane said that Odergaard was poor today. He should be dropped for Nwaneri.
We shouldn't be getting needless bookings for time wasting as we have a squad [who played badly today] that could keep possession to achieve the same thing.

And this is a link to the BBC Player Ratings table (for both teams) from todays game... Just shows how fucking dumb some Arsenal fans are, they have actually given Odegaard a higher mark than Gabriel Magalhães and Timber...

He's not gonna come out and say a few of his players were c.unts today so I'll say it for him. Mikel, a few of your players, in fact a good few were c.unts today.OneBardGooner wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 7:16 pmPost Game Arteta Interview with BBC:

That was a hard watch, right from kick off. The players didn’t look in gear, and the tactics were shocking.
I never want to see Odegaard in an Arsenal shirt again, to be honest. Consistently shocking; I swear he’s working against us. Every time Gyökeres finds himself in space he is being dragged out wide because Odegaard cannot pass properly. Shocking decision making time and again.
If we carry on like this by the time we play Liverpool and City then we’ll be in for a sore arse.

Haven’t read any posts on this thread yet (mainly as it takes half an hour to load each page!) so I imagine most of this has been said already.
We won’t get away with playing that badly often this season but we won away at old Trafford so I won’t complain too much.
Defensively we were pretty poor and looked anxious. Raya made one very good save and played pretty well when focussing in being a keeper and not trying to play outfield! His stupidity nearly cost is though.
We created very little but good to see we can still score from corners-albeit due to shit goalkeeping.
Not a good debut from Gyokeres but unfair to judge him on one performance. He needs to win more in the air though for someone his height and hopefully the poor first touches were due to rustiness and/or an off day. Don’t think anyone played well tbh.
Still, 3 points

We were absolutely shite today but a win against that shower of arseholes is a win

Re: Manure A Sun 17th Aug KO 1630
Am I the only one who thought ohdeargod did well today ? I despise him and want eze in his position badly, so I thought he must have done well for me to give him credit today, but it seems like I am the only one who thinks he did well
Maybe I am wrong and he was poor but just not anywhere near as shit as rice ?

he was terrible today with his passing and decision making.
he holds the ball too long and loses possession.

He was his usual self, wasted some passes, however considering how awful most of the rest of them were he did at least look up for it and as you mentioned done a lot of off the ball closing down.augie wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 8:02 pmAm I the only one who thought ohdeargod did well today ? Has to be Rice’s worst game for us totally anonymous, Saka looked unfit, and the Chav reject was all over the place.
Timber has to be first choice right back and Zubamendi was poor too
Thought Gyokeres done ok, Havertz was certainly no improvement when he came on.
Horrible to watch but thankfully 3 points but big improvement needed soon

The only reason that you have noticed the others is because they are playing crap.Gunner Rob wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 4:48 pmWatching in the pub

I thought he was better than last season but it's a low bar...he showed more and seemed more positive in driving forward but then held on to it too long when a quick through ball would have been on and lost possession after promising starts too often that they then countered from.
He wasn't good but he was better than last season.
Rice and saka were disgraceful.
Gykores looks a carthorse as does madueke
Martinellis isn't good enough
Zubi looks meh
Defence was all over the place in first 15
Why the fuck is timber our best right back by a mile not starting...brilliant player.
Raya is a good keeper but needs to stop fucking about with it.
If we don't sign another attacking option or 2 we ain't challenging the big boys.
We looked incredibly disjointed.

His was appalling. But I agree he did a lot of closing down, but in a game where we did not really need it, because manure were shit and so wasteful in their third and the middle third. We needed him to dictate the pace, create chances and open up the filth's back line. All he did was either pick the wrong pass or plain piss the ball away, and always after too many touches.
But still, he was nowhere near as shit and anonymous as Rice. He used to have games like that every third or fourth game for the shammers, (which was why I thought the 100million was too much) and I thought he had left that mostly behind. But last season he had a few and today his first game this season he was completely anonymous. Not acceptable when you've cost 100million. On his day he is top class, but that day has to be every day at that price tag. Hopefully, this was just a blip.
