WALCOTT - which position is best etc?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I know it's just a web story but it wouldn't surprise me if Feo got the hump if he misses out on Euro2016. Would be typical of his sort. Delivers fuck all for his club but expects to be picked for his country.

I don’t want to contemplate living in a world in which “world-class Walcott” doesn’t play for Arsenal.

Kane, Vardy, Rooney, Sturridge, Sterling, Welbeck, are all ahead of Feo. Thats 6 players, and I would imagine the rest would be made of up goal keepers, defenders and midfielders.

I dont know why Feo would assume he should go to the Euro's given his form. When you allow a 19 year old novice to upsurge you in your 10th season at a club like Arsenal, at 27 years of age when you should be in your peak, then whats going for you???

He shouldnt go to the Euro's, anymore than he shouldnt be near our first team.

He really does need to take this move to West Ham.

I think he probably knows he won't be going to the Euros.

TBH I'd be amazed if Woy doesn't pick him. It's like some unwritten rule; NO MATTER HOW SHITE WALCOTT IS PLAYING YOU WILL PICK HIM.

I call it the Steven Gerrard Edict.

I firmly believe that the last two times when his contract was due, he stalled signing it hoping one of the big guns would come him for him. They didn't then and they won't now, I don't know what signing scrap they are expecting.

"His spell on the bench has put his Euro place under threat and he could consider his future at the end of the campaign if he isn’t back in Arsene Wenger’s plans."

He was on the bench because he wasn't delivering the goods, and didn't do much when he came on, that has put his Euro place under threat, because there are more players in front of him now.

The end for me was that absolutely pathetic display at OT. Got the starting slot he wanted up front, playing against fucking Carrick and Blind and he was absolutely abject from the first minute to the minute he was hauled off. Gutless wanker, stealing a living from us since he signed the last contract.

He's become the new Michael Owen; phoning it in for years and only getting up for England games, yet still thinks he's worth his wages and more.

Who is mad enough to pay him £140K a week?

And it was for me too.

He doesn't offer anywhere near enough for the obscene amount he coins in.

Slightly off topic and i know this is an old article but where the hell is the evidence that AW is such a magnificent mentor for all these young players? Theo being case in point, add to him Gibbs, Ramsey, Ox, and all the others and i just don get it?!?

Someone/Anyone explain what i am missing :?

It all stems from him signing Anelka (and then flogging him to build a training ground)

cue his reputation, which he lived off for years despite all the other failed youngsters who didn't make it

then Fabregas.......

after that not so much, despite him trying to sign every promising youngster out there.

Somehow those two (admittedly both top top drawer) against all the dross he still manages to hold onto the outdated concept that he develops and improves youngsters :rubchin: :rubchin:
