Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
The Chavs don't actually have a 'Talent Spotting Team' any more, they just wait till they see what player/s Arsenal are interested in and when it looks like we are about to make a Bid they simply step in with a Bigger Bid etc It happened with Caicedo... They waited till we put in an 'Official' Offer and WHAM! BAM! THANK-YOU MA'AM! They stepped in with a Higher Bid and a Better Contract for the Player.
I've lost count of the times we've been interested in a player and the next thing you see is that the ChavScum are sniffing around ...Still no hard feelings eh!? I mean they did sell us Havertz (£63Million) then let us borrow The Fat Dwarf, all we had to do is pay his Wages (approx: £180k a Week!).

I was going to say that it’s a blessing that he’s suspended, as we can’t sign him, but knowing Arsenal…..mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Thu May 29, 2025 3:20 pmThey saved us with the Mudryk signing though ,definitely dodged am 88m bullet there![]()

Be interesting to see what does or doesn't happen.
Experienced respected DOF Berta, not Edu learning on the job or Ayto who will sign names that MA decides to this guy will hopefully work on profile of player and deliver good signings. Not names MA is set on, concentrate on coaching.
I will repeat like on the MA thread, if we bring a good striker in IF and a wide player time to deliver another season like this one not acceptable, CL was good PL form regressed and hugely.
Havertz whoever is signed or not if he spends a lot of next season as the first choice 9, league one thing cant see it unless we have two wide men hit 15 to 20 PL goals. Cups a chance but the FA cup exits like MU (embarrassing} AND the previous season against Liverpool, missed chances a plenty Havertz the main culprit, good player but a title winning 9 week in and out, imo no.
Gyorkeres, Sesko or another like Etike at Frankfurt sign a 9, no excuses.

Yep, I think that's exactly what they do OBG. As soon as I saw yesterday that Chelsea were interested in him, I thought it was game over for us. I can remember the president of Real Madrid saying the same thing 15 or 20 years ago...that they just watched to see who Wenger was after and then targeted that player. The chavs did it with Caicedo and Mudryk.
Just for fucking once, can our owners show the resolve to go toe to toe with the chavs and outbid them? If we didn't fuck around so much and got things done quietly and quickly, this wouldn't keep happening. Previously it was just Utd that were interested in Gyokeres, but apart from the state they're in, the allure of London should far outweigh that of Manchester. However, in a geographical context, the very name "Chelsea" has a cachet about it, especially to a foreigner (and his missus, because they have a significant sway) so we lose that advantage. They've also had a much higher profile and better trophy haul over the last 20 years. That's the only period that current footballers will remember and applies to City too.
Sounds like I'm getting paranoid.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Gyokres or whatever his name is looks the real deal, 39 league goals this season, 33 last!
Sesko 14 and 13 ffs, Havertz would have beaten that in a tougher lge had he not got injured!
If we spunk £95mil on sesko, we will be a fucking laughing stock

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
It is understood the clause is currently £62m (€75m).6 Mar 2025.
Leipzig may want more and every story increases the price by a few million and they do love to get the euro price and shove a pound sign on it but although Gyokeres has better scoring records in a Portuguese league with only two other top teams Benfica and Porto . Sesko has got his playing in a better standard for a team about the same position as Bournemouth against teams like Bayern , leverkusen ,Borussia , Eintract .
Sesko is younger and has a resale value , Gyokeres is after a last pay day.
