SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Why post that fucking goal link then and insinuate that you're more likely to believe it rather than an actual reputable source in FoxSports?

Oh I know why, because it meets your doom and gloom sentiment.

If that was positive news reported on goal.com, you'd dismiss it right out of hand whilst laughing off a source well-known for spouting utter shite.

The world is gonna end soon because goal.com said so, zzzzzz...
Really  .....And I turned down my sister-in-law and she is so fuckin hot

If only you'd have have posted that last week 1989 :( :?

Two problems with that: the gooner forum wasn't online back then and I doubt he would have been old or capable enough to use a computer anyway. :rubchin:

If I want a Ferrari I expect to pay Ferrari prices, if I can't afford one I'll buy a Ford Focus instead. If they can't afford the money it costs to sign a marquee player like Nicklas Bendtner then they should stop using his name merely to promote themselves and accept their lot, maybe they should sign Francis Jeffers instead, they could probably afford him, Bendtner won't accept playing for a pittance and rightly so.

Yeah its getting close. I reckon in another 140 odd pages we will eventually sign him! What it shows is that it's our cheapskateness as usual that is dragging us back. Fighting over who pays for the flight tickets to London I bet.

On other news I found this:

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/ne ... naldo.html

Basically a UTD coach blasting rooney for being a lazy slob.

I dunno who is the more safe a signing Rooney or Suarez?

Time to break out the fucking bubbly me thinks...

More to the point, it says Tommy V is on £100k a week, although it wouldn't surprise me if the fuckwits at Arsenal (Wenger) had given him that much, it would be ridiculous that a player who has been,by and large. shite for two and a half years is on that kind of money!!

I'm taking the piss buddy so dont go all sensitive

Anyway I am not and never will be a "party line" type of guy - since I joined here (2007  ) I have continually stuck my neck out and express my thoughts on all issues, both positive and negative, regardless of what the perceived party line is at that time and I have frequently received abuse for doing so 8) My comment on barry repeated what I had said on here 2 days ago and wasnt cos of what anybody else thinks......it is just because the guy is shit [/quote]
Ok Augie, fair swipe, got sensitive. Here's the thing, Barry was an outstanding player (in my view) for the job he had, PRIOR to going to City but I feel, just like Torres, he needs to be one of the main men to shine. He doesn't like being a bit part player and similarly Torres doesn't like being one if a bunch of stars. The Galactico style clubs need players that know their place - you're a star, a team man or a rotation but bloody well accept it and do your best. Do Not sulk!
Anyway I can see Barry and his experience fitting in quite well at DM. Obviously many disagree as they do about Wilshere as a bulldog striker but maybe I am the only one that sees him potentially matching Aguero, Tevez et al in style. Those that feel he isn't fast enough don't understand pace is only relevant for a certain type of striker.
Anyway

Agree with Northbank123, Wilshere is much better suited to playing deep midfield, passing from deep and making tackles, he is good in that position.
I think it is possible that one day he could play as the number 10 that his shirt number hints at, but not as an out-and-out striker as he is just too slow.
Cazorla is better than Wilshere as a number 10, so I would like to see central midfield built around Wilshere plus one other.

As for Podolski, I think his most effective work has been cutting in from the left and shooting, so carry on with him there, hoping his ankle injury clears up.

Meanwhile Park Chu Young is in combat training.

Can't agree, Wilshere is too good on the ball and taking on players. A DM needs to scrap for the ball then get it away, Wilshere can scrap but looks to keep the ball, problem is he can and does take on 2 or 3 but loses at 4 or 5. Give home the ball to feet in the box (and Carzola can do that)and I reckon we're in. Stick him at DM and waste some talent.

I fucking despair sometimes! He didn't sign it yesterday. This was about two years ago now.

If I couldn't afford a Ferrari but could afford a skoda and if I then bought one and found it to be highly expensive to run especially considering the performance it was given then I would be whinging in the media too 8) The very least I would expect from a shite car is for it to be economical to run

You do realise the Suarez thing came from bets going on? Nothing, absolutely nothing, has been said about this deal from anyone. It isn't some werid cloak and dagger thing from Arsenal.

I dont see Wilshere playing a deep role either, even though he was excellent at it against Barca. We need a proper DMC. I'm not sure about fellaini TBh I think he may be too attacking and a bit too slow.
