If they can't afford the money it costs to sign a marquee player like Nicklas Bendtner then they should stop using his name merely to promote themselves and accept their lot, maybe they should sign Francis Jeffers instead, they could probably afford him, Bendtner won't accept playing for a pittance and rightly so.

Ok Augie, fair swipe, got sensitive. Here's the thing, Barry was an outstanding player (in my view) for the job he had, PRIOR to going to City but I feel, just like Torres, he needs to be one of the main men to shine. He doesn't like being a bit part player and similarly Torres doesn't like being one if a bunch of stars. The Galactico style clubs need players that know their place - you're a star, a team man or a rotation but bloody well accept it and do your best. Do Not sulk!
Anyway I can see Barry and his experience fitting in quite well at DM. Obviously many disagree as they do about Wilshere as a bulldog striker but maybe I am the only one that sees him potentially matching Aguero, Tevez et al in style. Those that feel he isn't fast enough don't understand pace is only relevant for a certain type of striker.

Regardless of who we get, if anyone, I can see opportunity in moving some of our current players. I reckon Wilshere is too direct to pull the strings in the midfield and could actually transform into a Tevez style striker quite quickly and successfully.

Agree with Northbank123, Wilshere is much better suited to playing deep midfield, passing from deep and making tackles, he is good in that position.
I think it is possible that one day he could play as the number 10 that his shirt number hints at, but not as an out-and-out striker as he is just too slow.
Cazorla is better than Wilshere as a number 10, so I would like to see central midfield built around Wilshere plus one other.

As for Podolski, I think his most effective work has been cutting in from the left and shooting, so carry on with him there, hoping his ankle injury clears up.

If I couldn't afford a Ferrari but could afford a skoda and if I then bought one and found it to be highly expensive to run especially considering the performance it was given then I would be whinging in the media too The very least I would expect from a shite car is for it to be economical to run

I dont see Wilshere playing a deep role either, even though he was excellent at it against Barca. We need a proper DMC. I'm not sure about fellaini TBh I think he may be too attacking and a bit too slow.
