Re: SUMMER 2014 TRANSFER THREAD
Arsenal have offered €30m for Sami Khedira. German media say Mesut Özil has been trying to convince his compatriot to join the Gunners. (MD)

Re: SUMMER 2014 TRANSFER THREAD
Not that most on here will worry, but I think Luis Enrique may have been turned by his time at Madrid. Xavi and Valdes go. He sells Cesc and is looking to get shot of Sánchez, both strong players who score goals as well as créate, and buys Rakitic.topgoon wrote:In reply to Herd, the bid seems to be confirmed in media sources as £32million and not by the usual Arse-ene lickers like John Cross. Seems a reasonable price for a player they want shot of.
Still believe we are being used and he will end up elsewhere.
I wonder if we could tempt him with Diaby.

Personally I'm not sold on khedira -is not physical enough to be a proper DM (which is what I want) but nor is he a good enough footballer to be in the team ahead of ramsey, ozil, ox, cazorla or arteta. His main attribute seems to be his box to box ability but isn't that what ramsey does ? No point in him charging up the pitch and getting in the way of the others plus if he does charge up the pitch, who protects the back 4 ?

Bloody phone keeps double posting me,nothing whatsoever with the idiot that's using it.

Re: SUMMER 2014 TRANSFER THREAD
Augie, I would have him ahead of those three, Carzola is too inconsistent and is reported to be eyeing a move, Ox still unproven in my book and Arteta had a poorish season last term. Also when Ramsey got injured (and will most likely do again) we were fucked.augie wrote:mcdowell42 wrote:Arsenal have offered €30m for Sami Khedira. However the biggest travesty in all of this is that we could have had Fabregas back for the same money, a better player than any mentioned on this post.

I imagine Alexis prefers Arsenal because of London, I do think location is overrated by the media/fans but this time I've to agree.

Wenger will try and claim he has been blindsided by Carzola's decision to seek a move, but had he known his players better - we would now have Cesc back in the ranks and Santi would (probably) be gone....so that would leave Le Cock with more moolah to spend and get a World Class Striker, Holding/Defensive Mid-fielder and CB back up, a Goalie and RB - till (perhaps) Jenks is good enough.
Re: SUMMER 2014 TRANSFER THREAD
We haven't signed anyone

For me that is not enough of a reason to spend that type of money on him though - we are in desperate need of a quality centre forward (not winger for all you sanchez lovers), a big powerful DM, a quality right back plus back up keeper and centre back and all of these issues should be sorted before we think about where we are if ramsey or any of the other midfielders get injured

My plan is always to expect no signings at all, and then I can't end up disappointed.

Re: SUMMER 2014 TRANSFER THREAD
Most of us expect no quality signings. Doesn't mean we'll be any less pissed off when the inevitable bargain basement trolley dash for Remy takes place on 31st August

Fcuk......you are meant to be one of the more positive members on here

Re: SUMMER 2014 TRANSFER THREAD
As with every summer in the french twats reign....it the hope that kills me....perhaps saving it for 3 years time when hope may actually turn into reality would be a better long term plan!
