Joking aside, if we sign Sesko for £92.5m we must need our fucking heads tested. He'll make Pepe look like a bargain

Lightweight, not experienced enough

I mean why sign Gyokeres for £55m when you can have the lightweight, shite option for almost double eh?

He has a release cause around 60ish apparently so would be an achievement to pay 92 for him!!
92m quoted, is inclusive of fee ,wages ,add ons and probably agent fees, there all factors in the price or do we not pay him any wages while he's here
Oh turn it up mcd none of us are factoring that in!

We seeing the 92m as the headline transfer fee
Just like to be accurate ,same as the rumours I post on here old chum

Liverpool confirm Frimpong signing and in final stages of Wirtz deal

Meanwhile when we approach the final knockings on deadline day we'll be wondering if the paperwork to sign Nkunku on loan has gone through on time

Strikers are known to mature later in their careers - one is 26 and ready to go, the other is a streak of piss and not ready to go. I don't care what Gyokeres did at Brighton reserves when he was a kid. He's on it now!

Both could be crap. Neither inspires much confidence.

I don't think anyone should get out of shape as both completely untested both have risks and advantages.

Still think we sign Darwin Nunez on deadline day instead.

Neither are exciting like days of yore....we've signed x? Really. Can't wait to see him play.

I suppose whomever we sign there's bit of that as we have had to suffer such shite up there.

But then osimsom and Martinez, apart from Chucky, kane or lewandowski or vini J maybe what strikers are there who are guaranteed and without risk.

Edit oh and either way it will make or break arteta. No hiding now.

Unless they get injured in game 1...

If they get injured in game 1 then he gets fried anyway. Too many injuries for it to be coincidence now. Must be his training methods.

Out of curiosity Isak joined Newcastle, not the finished article at the time, but we're writing off Sesko cos he's not the finished article.

I'm not advocating for Sesko but where's the difference

I was merely pointing out how he developed whilst our target is not the finished article, the same argument that was used when people didn't want Isak on here.

Exactly what I was trying to point out.

Well, firstly, having seen both, one moved with the fluidity of an athlete, while one less so. It’s also possible to see clear potential, even if it’s not ultimately realised. With others, the limitations appear more obvious than the potential. No guarantees, but no way do I see Sesko developing into an Isak.

Secondly, we haven’t got time to wait for potential to develop. If we sign a striker with possible potential, then bang goes another 2-3 years while we wait and see. It’s time that we acted like the big club we claim to be and buy the finished article.

the *victims have already signed Two players; two decent players in Wirtz and Frimpong; yes there were rumours a few weeks ago But they just got on with it without all the Drama that always seems to surround any signings we make (*).. Look at Rice when we signed him ... it was all over every media outlet etc :blah: :blah: :blah: and even then it was all conjecture for months before it was Finally Done.

(*) The only time I recall signings happening more or less out of the blue was when we signed Havertz and when we signed the Fat Dwarf on loan from the Chavs.

Our Transfer Windows besides being less than 50% successful in terms go the names / players we showed Serious Interest in and the actual signings we succeeded in completing.

Players like Lakonga, Tavares, Marquinhos.. all bought but then soon loaned out etc. In a word it's a Shambles. :banghead:
