about time wrighty apologized. it's a bad example to the rest of the akb's when an Arsenal legend thinks its ok to call fellow supporters a "bellend" because of the banner. he still maintains that the banner was "poorly timed". love to hear when good timing would be, reading away in december 2012 was considered bad timing too, as was west brom 2014.

fuck it, hope to see more of the banner in the future.

Thats the thing mate. There is never a "good" time to do it. Its not a pleasent thing to have to do. Especially for those who are holding the banner. You cant really enjoy the game, you're on edge and looking over your shoulder. Its fukin horrible but it has to be done.

I was just flicking through the channels and landed on football focus with Dion Dublin saying "be careful what you wish for". Obviously it was little surprise that it turned out to be about Arsenal fans wanting Wenger out  he then finished with the question "who could do a better job?"

Why are so many people of the opinion that no manager in world football is capable of being a success at Arsenal? it's bonkers. :?

It's such a defeatist attitude. :suicide:

Why it is so hard to believe that any manager in world football could succeed at Arsenal? it's bonkers. :?

i watched Soccer Saturday, totally different different view. Charlie Nic thinks it's time for him to go and Tissier, Merse and Thompson said he should go but not sacked.

Yes because as John Cross would say.....he's earned the right to decide when he leaves

There just seems to be an unwritten rule whereby pundits cant be honest when it come to managers underperforming.
Especially in Wengers case where he has had more time than anyone, gets paid more and has fantastic resources and is at a wonderful metropolitan club.
Its just so glaringly obvious in Wengers case that its actually ridiculous that these "celebs" just re-hash the same old buzzwords and idiotic phrases like - "be careful what you wish for" and "who could do a better job"

It really is pure stupidity and lazyness

notice how terry doesn't have his arm round the geezer's shoulders, definitely another classic case of terry's blatant racism on show there  8)

have to agree with g88ner and co with sky sports. they will rip into us continually but shit themselves when it comes to call for his sacking. still can't separate 96-05 wenger with current wenger, it's like we are still in debt the bloke for his initial success. it's not like we were nobodies before we came in like clough at forest, we were a decent side, still a huge club but not necessarily fulfilling our potential.

AP McCoy on soccer am today too, saying he's earnt the right to say when he leaves. of course he'll say that, he's met wenger and the players before and is a celebrity supporter. no celebrity or top pundit will publicly dare to tell wenger he should go, it's seen as some sort of treason.

The celeb supporters who consistently back him....fair enough. The dickheads like Piers Morgan who come on TalkShite and say he has to go and then U-turn when he signs Ozil and wins a cup.....they're the fucking retards that froth my piss

"He's earned the right to decide when he leaves" - imagine having a job like that. I might go in on Monday and behave like a total *word censored* but because I did some good things for the company declare that "I've earned the right to decide when I leave". Another one of those ridiculous throw away lines that makes whoever said it look more of a fuckwit than they could possibly imagine

Agreed. Especially when there is also a whole new generation of ex-players who have bottled going into coaching - so wouldn't really have to face anyone they criticised - so their lack of balls is saying things like they are is even worse.

Unfortunately, the 'stereotype' of the successful Wenger years have well and truly stuck. So no-one else can surpass the great Lord and Master despite almost a decade of stagnation which has by now pretty much eclipsed his glory years :banghead:

Anyone who has watched us since 2008 should know we've been on the wane, with a blinkered fool in charge. Any credit that man had was well and truly destroyed by 2011. Now it's almost five years later and he's still here, bottling titles and failing in Europe. He is bulletproof.

Not sure if anyone saw the Everton Chelsea match but Keown was spouting his usual bollocks, i know Martinez is crap and basically Wenger lite but all the things Keown was saying about Martinez could just as easily have been said about AW yet he is too stupid to see the correlation between the two.

“Look, it’s never enough. As long as you don’t win everything, it’s never enough”.

Who the F does he think he is? And whats he talking about winning everything? We win back to back FA Cups and suddenly he thinks he has delivered a trophy haul to be proud off. Id say those cups were long over due, and a bare minimum given the last trophy before the first FA Cup was 10 years.

“When we didn’t win anything they said, ‘You didn’t even win the FA Cup’. People will always want more, which is normal – and it’s what we want as wel"l.

Well, when you dont win the FA Cup, it means you win nothing, so 'wanting more' from nothing is pretty routine. Again, he talks as if he has satisfied the desires of the fans.

He is basically saying 'F off, heres two of FA Cups you ungrateful shi..s. You pay the highest ticket price sin Europe, offered me unconditional support for 10 years, so heres two FA Cups for your troubles. What!! you want the league as well, over Tottenahm and Leicester City, how greedy are you fans? Im not a miracle worker'

Thats how arrogant he is, he thinks we are asking for miracle work in the form of a league title. He thinks the expectation to win the league is unrealistic and we should he happy with our two FA Cups.

This is why I have crossed the line form simply wanting him out, to Fing hating him. Because the man is an arrogant, egotistical narcissist. He literally wants appreciation and admiration for the job he is doing. 12 years and hundreds of millions of pounds spend for two FA Cups - its a fing S return. Yet he honeslty believes the job he is doing is wonderful and could not be replicated by another manager.
