I haven't seen Draxler play much and by all accounts I hear he's a fantastic talent. But he isn't a lone striker. We need a fucking striker and tbh I'm not really disappointed that Wenger didn't spend £37m on another midfielder. But it's completely symptomatic of the way we do business these days.

The mistake was ignoring our need for a striker to go after a creative midfielder who we were never going to stump up the cash for. Why do we seem to assume every club will wilt at the first sign of serious interest from a better team? Oh that's right, because we fucking do it.

Why would Schalke buckle and compromise on their fee? There are plenty of clubs who can afford to pay £40m for a player and there will be no shortage of clubs willing to part with that sort of money this summer for such a highly-rated youngster.

But you will not se a quality striker in the summer, He will penny pitch again and will probely end up with kalou on loan.
and Draxler will sign for another top team and be worldclass just like the Hazard/Mata case.

The only way you will se AW pay proper money for quality player is if his own £7,5m soon to be 8m salery is on the line.

because we seem to believe we set the market price for players when we don't - in the summer, PSG, Monaco, the Chavs, MIlam or united will out bid us at a higher price and the opportunity will pass us by again.

any other club would have signed him to tie him up now and then loaned him back to schalke until the summer, but not us no....

Im 42 years young an always enjoy these transfer windows.
Like most on here been through good n shit.Glory hunters we aint But we have always been able to play football against the best.#
