Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: "Our fantastic run has come to an end on a day where we felt that our performance deserved a win. Credit to Watford, they created few chances but took them all. It's sad because we gave everything.
"The players don't miss on purpose. You have to be realistic. Of course on the first goal, we made a mistake.
It wasn't possible to start Welbeck in fact medically he shouldn't have even played at all.
SO WHY BRING HIM ON AT ALL THEN????
Two games ago we lost to half a Swansea team AT HOME.........when does one win constitute a fantastic run ??

Absolutely spot on and what we have been saying over & over & over......
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Think he means in the FA Cup.....still most people have got their way and it leaves us free to concentrate on those bigger prizes we've got such a good chance inaugie wrote:xisstential wrote:OUR MANAGER HAS SPOKEN... LISTEN UP FOLKS

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I think he is referring to our FA cup run augie
Tbh I will let Wenger off on that point- we have had a good cup run, can't argue with that

The wonderful run was 2 consecutive FA Cups and a record equaling winning run of successive FA Cup rounds that was ended by Watford today.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
It was backtracking, just another excuse... it was in response to the journo's question, that seeing he made such an impact, should he have not started?? Cue the wriggling, foot hopping, hand wringing, response of the man who lies for a living. Yea he should have started but I made a mistake by not starting him.... Hmmm, I know I'll say he's injured.....SteveO 35 wrote:Yeah, he looked well fucked medically when he created more chances in 10 minutes than the entire team did in the rest of the match.xisstential wrote:OUR MANAGER HAS SPOKEN... Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I think, as I see it, him & the journo were waxing lyrical about the FA run which started in 2014. Let's not mention the teams we "swept aside" in that run though. Mostly Championship sides & most of them at home as well.markyp wrote:don't you remember augie, after Swansea we had one win in a rowaugie wrote:xisstential wrote:OUR MANAGER HAS SPOKEN... "Do the gooners really believe that things will be better without wenger. Best manager working in the Premier league. Be careful what you wish for"
I could have filled pages with shit like this but one will suffice. To be fair, there are lots of Wenger out posts too on various sites I've been on today but shit like the above makes me fume. How can anyone with eyes honestly trot this sort of shit out?

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I think a certain Mr Ranieri as well as a few others might dispute that point.officepest wrote:"Do the gooners really believe that things will be better without wenger. Best manager working in the Premier league. Be careful what you wish for"

Now if we're talking the best finance manager in the PL they might be on to something

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
The laughable part of today is that some think it means the fans will turn against Wenger, and hound him out. The reality is we could lose 6-0 against Barca, lose away to Everton, and at home to Watford(league), and the most we will see is a few extra boos. Look at the reaction to us beating a championship side on Tuesday, and the condemnation about the banner. We must have most passive fan base in Europe.
