Guardiola is no mug and I hardly saw a long queue of clubs coming in for Schweinsteiger......in my opinion its a modern day Man Ure desperation signing. 17 years playing for one club and now in his early 30s as a central midfielder coming to the Premiership........not the marriage made in heaven some are making it out to be.

Unless United sign 2 top class centre halves they will be absolutely gash again anyway. Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin will look like a couple of Joe Averages when they've got Smalling and Evans doing their Stepanovs and Caesar impression behind them

But it is entirely the same scenario with cech - he looked outstanding behind a team built on a safety first policy, but how will he look behind a team that frequently see defending as an inconvenience and who are still suspect through the spine of the team ?
If manure do end up buying schweinstiger and schneiderlin, they will def provide massive protection to a horribly shit back 4 and that has always been our complaint when le cock has refused to buy a quality DM - imo if we had signed matic last summer, he would have propelled us to the heights of genuine challengers, and that underlines the importance of a quality DM

I am very aware that this could be taken in the wrong way that I am writing as if I have some sort of insider info, but I am writing it genuinely.

A year or so ago during the summer I spoke to an agent of top Premier League players, and suggested that he must be very busy at this time of year?
He told me that it was the opposite, that the summer was all about everyone phoning everyone else asking what was going on but very little of substance actually happened.
He mainly sits at his desk chatting on the phone to other agents about rumours they have read online!
Then in the two weeks before the transfer window closes it goes bonkers and he works crazy hours.

The Sunday Mirror reckons that we are keeping an eye on johnny evans situation at manure and may pip west brom to sign him for £10m

I swear to god, if we sign that useless b*stard then I am finished with the club until this regime are replaced - without a doubt he is one of the worst centre backs in the league and we got rid of senderos and djouru even though they were 10 times better than this c.unt

We've got Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gabriel and Chambers. Even after that Debuchy and Monreal ( :D ) can play centre back.

Gabriel and Chambers were signed in 2015 so I really can't see us signing another centre back... and if there is a top class centre back on the market, I think they're more likely to end up at Man Utd as they are desperate!

So I think we're safe from Johnny Evans... I hope :?

The Arsene Wenker Benevolent fund for the charitable assistance to the red City of Manchester continues!

First he donated generously for Silvestre. Took a huge load off their minds
Then, he generously donated £17m for a donkey who's played striker his whole life, came through the club but only ever played "defensive attacker" roles.

If he goes for Evans, then that'd compete the set! He's already tried to donate for Smallimg a few times in the past!

Thankfully, in exchange, we gave them this Dutch bloke who won them the League Title

This year every body including a fair few on here were saying he would get business done early when we finished third and yet again people are here putting up any excuse for our lack of activity.

This transfer window is the same as every other. Only this time he hasnt got the CL qualifier to hide behind but still nothing is asked or said. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
Funny. Why aren't ManYoo "waiting until their CL qualification is secured" to go out and sign what they need? :rubchin:
At least, that's been our eternal excuse for years no?

I'm with g88ner, i actually think Le Prick will make another biggish buy, unfortunately i'm not convinced it'll fill any of the slots that really need strengthening going off previous years experience and i know he will leave us short of a title challenging team again.

The way i see it, we need a striker, CDM and although others may disagree i feel we need a good experienced CB too.

So anyone want to bet on whether we buy either a small technical ACM or a speedy winger who can't shoot (or something in between) instead?

C'mon i'll even give you good odds

I agree - which is why unlike a few others, I'm not knocking one out over the fact that we've signed the 4th best keeper in the division

I would not have been happy if Schweinsteiger had been the midfield signing we've been craving all these years and I'm also not yet certain about £25m for Schneiderlin. Wanyama is the player we need and available at around half the money. Just be patient augs......you know this is the time of the year when our global scouting network are working day and night looking at every player in the world.....and "if we find something interesting we will do it" :D

That sanderson looks like an absolute clown - I don't think that I would take him seriously if he came knocking on my door as a paper boy, so how is anyone supposed to look at him and seriously believe that he is privy to behind the scenes movements in the pro football world ?

To be fair to him, he has it in quotes, which usually implies bollocks and that it was lifted from another site. In this case, it is the Express, which just shades CSOR or CaughtOffside in terms of credibility.

That being said - I agree Augie - his haircut reminds me of this guy

Pedro has apparently turned Arsenal down and looks Chelski bound.
Gotze rumours intensifying now mind. Very possible as he's an underperforming player not wanted by the Big 3 European clubs. How I'd laugh if he signed him for the reported £35m. Can stick him next to those physical powerhouses Cazorla and Ozil
