THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

New owners you say? Someone get the hot-pants, feather boas and tiaras out...
I'll call. RED ACTION. We're surely due another Love Parade!

Here I am on this forum 3 and a half years later and he’s still there spouting the same shit “Judge us in May nonsense”, except this time appears to be different. This is the first time I see even Wenger’s most ardent supporters starting to realise his time is up and the media are doing a decent job (for once) piling on the pressure rather than lauding his "brilliance", even they have realised they were fooled. Can’t wait to see the media lay into him after the “Annual 2nd Round Champions League Thrashing” by Barca this year.

The day he leaves should be commemorated by creating a public holiday for Gooners worldwide called “Wenger Out Day”. I will be celebrating the liberation with some fine champagne when the day finally comes. I’ve vowed to open it the day he leaves :banghead: !!!
I knew things were going wrong as far back as 2008, when he threw away a league title with his bollox notions that we didn't need a striker in January, and Adebayor's goal's dried up, Eduardo HAD HIS LEG broken and the rest is history. After that, I could choose from any number of embarrassments or mistakes that proved he should have gone. Amazing to think that we are close to a decade since his first major fuck up, and despite many more since, he is still here.
:rubchin:

Someone mentioned a Director of Football - I have always thought such a position or method at any club was wrong, that the choice and purchase of a player should be in the hands of the manager - It is he who has to coach that player and fit them into the team/playing system/position etc...But I think that it would be the best thing that could happen at Arsenal Till Wenger is gone....If he were given 3 world class players in the spine of the team...just think what we might have/could achieve...there again Wenger - aka: plays players out of position for no good reason - would most likely find a way to even fuck that up. :?

Have to say that if Victim fans can organise a walkout that makes a point and changes things with ticket prices its about time we had the testicles to do the same. Leave 11 minutes before the end to signify the number of league nearly theres that should have beens perhaps, or just wave your kleenex tissues....

Steam on. (The flying Scotsman as in take a flying..... Arsene

PLayers that have been successful under him will not criticise him...remember he moved Merson before the 97/98 double season, and when he was on 99 goals for the club. I'd be a bit bitter about that...

Amazing he saw fit to get rid of Merson after Wenger had been at the club for only one year, especially when you consider how often he rewards mediocrity now a days, Theo Walcott springs to mind.

I see Wrighty’s been flapping his gums on radio 5 saying it’s “tearing him apart” to see Arsene Wenger being mistreated by Arsenal fans.

I take it the club has ‘had a little word’ with him, because he’s changed his fucking tune. Yet another flip-flopping legend.

It's becoming a bit pathetic now; Wenger can't do his job, a few fans moan a bit and every twat ever linked with us has come out to support the old fucker.

Well Mr. Viera, if Wenger knows what he's doing how about sharing it with us. We would love to know, we have a right to know.....

How can a "top manager" who has won 2 in 11 "know what he's doing??? The reality is that Wenger doesn't have a clue what he is doing. He doesn't do tactics, he never does tactics, his players are failing him and his luck has finally run out as he stumbles from one crisis to the next, becoming more and more tetchy as he does.

Going back to the ST debate for a minute wouldn't the obvious choice be for those with seasons tickets who want him out to just not go to the match, make it loud and obvious and get as many ST holders involved as possible and make sure they didn't hand the tickets off to others to take their place, surely a large amount of empty seats would leave the club asking questions without people having to give up their ST's :rubchin:

Anyway i had my first rumble of discomfort over the possible departure of AW last night, i actually thought to myself (as Spuddy and others have said) what the hell happens if he gets to go upstairs?

What serious manager is going to take on our club with the thought of AW holding the purse strings over him? And to be honest anyone who thinks that AW will just leave it at the purse strings is either naive or worse, he has his fingers in every part of the Arsenal pie and will not give it up easily :banghead:

That is where the problem lies, AW might give up the Managers spot if he was promised a different and superior role within the club and if that happened i genuinely can't see any top class manager coming in or if they did sticking around for long

he admitted on fivelive hed been chatting with Dear Ivan at the start of the season, so no surprise  - not the brightest at seeing through ruses, but the best at seeing through defenders to goal

In fact heres the transcript quel surprise of the sourse http://news.arseblog.com/2015/06/ivan-g ... ranscript/

So far weve had Winterburn the AFC employee, Viera and Wrighty pitch positive guff in today, its like a relentless Russian version of Corrie

What the hell has it got to do with Viera?? Is he angling for a way back sometime in the future..... As for Wright he turns up at these matches looking like he's living on the streets. The man has become a caricature.

Fair play to him, he's nailed it on every point. We, of course, have being saying what they are finally saying, for years. Makes us pretty smart huh??

I await those who'll say that Smudger has "a chip on his shoulder" or "never says anything positive about Arsenal" in 5,4,3,2,...
