THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Eewww. Not sure I want to see that.

I doubt if simeone would let pellegrini on top - simeone would probably be more of a giver rather than a taker
I'm not fussed if he's ploughing him on the Emirates big screen to welcome his arrival as long as he's our manager by the start of next season.

Have we sacked the Alsace Bulbeye yet?

I do hope we don't, as I cannot think of a single manager in the world who could do a better job on such a paltry salary and with such limited resources.

Wenger will hear about those rumours, and probably sign a new contract this week in order to spite us.

Wonder if the journos will have the balls to quiz Wenger about Pelligrini or Simeone taking his job like they did with LGV over Mourinho? :rubchin:
Love to see his ego take another massive hit. 8)

 flipflopper

Journos are like vultures arent they- smell real vulnerable and they start pecking. Besides they must be bored of LVG and there isnt much other excitement around manager wise now- that may help in our favour I spose :?

The pundits are a joke. Especially the ones saying he should get to see out his contract. Which would basically mean next season is a testimonial season for Wenger - a last hurrah and swing around the merry go round. When next season is the last year we might have to convince Ozil and Sanchez to remain at the club. So no, Wenger does not deserve one last season.

We havent won the league in 12 years, and were told not to expect to win it given the money spent by our rivals, yet Leicester City or Tottenham come along and look likely to be the champions, yet we are still told we are being unrealistic in an expectation to win the league title.

Have Arsenal fans not been the most patient and supportive fans in the last 10 years? From 2006 has Wenger not been offered almost unconditional support from majority of the fans?

Although where has this support got us? Wenger makes repetitive mistakes, backs players not good enough, hands out obscene contracts to players like Giroud on 100k a week, and Walcott on 140k a week (yet Wenger still pleads poverty). We see cash reserves of over 150m in the bank, yet Wenger chooses not to spend because he was satisfied with the current playing personal (another error of judgement). Its the same old sh.. in Europe (infact Arsenal fans hold no expectation in Europe). The constant bottle jobs when the title gets within reach - its happened in 2008, 2011 and in 2016.

So I think the criticism is fair. Arsenal fans are not being unrealistic. Yet the pundits portray us as spoilt want it all's who dont realise how good we have it.

According to Lord Haw Haw, Wenger might quit if the fans shout at him too loud and the crowd being angry is affected his little snowflakes:
