I now firmly believe that if he doesnt have the decency to go this season, he will be unable to renew his contract when it expires in 2017.
So the pressure has finally paid off imo. It really is the endgame.

I still don't think we will be rid of him for a few years yet. Yes the pressure on him has built to a level possibly more than he has known but it still won't be enough to force him out I think. If Kroenke is backing him to the hilt then he won't see any reason to leave as long as he is achieving what he feels is required of him and what is deemed as success. Wouldn't surprise me if the ink is dry on the extension and is announced after we have won a couple on the spin in a few weeks.

In Wenger's mind Arsenal is/was essentially a second tier Football Club who he brought to the Big Time (ie top 4).

In his mind Arsenal was on a level with clubs like Everton, Villa, Newcastle, and Tottenham when he arrived (despite winning far from trophies, bigger fanbase, always more ambition). He believes that. So to him the notion that Arsenal "should" be winning trophies is utterly absurd. He has already treated this middle sized club to far more success than it should ever want.
