Re: Natalie's Deadline Day Titfest Thread
Stevo 35...what evidence do you have that kim is "a first rate loser"? ...everyone deserves a chance surely.

Re: Natalie's Deadline Day Titfest Thread
I've never been so sure that we weren't going to sign players. Wenger doesn't make the right type of signings in the areas we need in the summer, he won't part with cash in January unless there's a gun to his head. He doesn't view this as our best opportunity in 6 years, he views it as our safest VT in 6 years and hence is less inclined to consider spending money. There was no false hope and given the general sentiment on here our inactivity didn't come as a huge surprise to many people.rodders999 wrote:I thought there'd be a shit storm brewing on here tonight but it's tumbleweed time. Resigned to mediocrity are we lads?
When City's £200m worth of attacking talent propels them to the domestic treble he will undoubtedly become even more smug about 'fairness' and even more determined to become their antithesis.

Well there you go, I'm going mad.clockender1 wrote:nope - pod went on that marketing trip to Qatar & Nigeria while the squad were in Viet Nam etc.
Pod didn't start til mid september if i remember right. They were then going to travel to Nigeria to play the Nigerian national football team[13] in their first visit to Africa since visiting South Africa in 1993,[14] however this was later postponed till summer 2013 based on concerns with the host city.[15] Instead the club sent three first-team players (Sagna, Mertesacker and new signing Podolski) on 28 July 2012, to engage with supporters in the region.[16

I was sure he signed at the start of the summer

Still, hands up mate. I guess I was wrong. Maybe I was thinking of someone else

Anyway, 90 mins to sign a striker

Yeah clockender, agree about a loan for osvaldo...hopefully he'd punch bendtner in training like he punched jose fonte...only for that reason though, otherwise hes quite sh1te.

Whats more embarrassing than a last minute panic attempt at signing Kalou on loan?
Re: Natalie's Deadline Day Titfest Thread
The fact that he's been farmed off to Russia when 10 years ago he was the supposed next wonder kid. He's Sweden's answer to Aliadieretopcat wrote:Stevo 35...what evidence do you have that kim is "a first rate loser"? ...everyone deserves a chance surely.
Or maybe the fact he lost his place in that uninspiring Sweden midfield
Or maybe the fact he can't complete 90 minutes owing to being a permacrock.
Any of the above

It's a good thing we only got the Swede on loan otherwise it'd be more money down the drain for ages.

Ba at the last minute of the summer window. Klose, Cisse and Kalou at the 11th hour this time round. What a fucking sorry state of affairs. What a mess all orchestrated by the gormless fucking turnip

Re: Natalie's Deadline Day Titfest Thread
Think that's harsh.SteveO 35 wrote:Only a successful attempt at signing Kallstrom on loanarmchair supporter wrote:Whats more embarrassing than a last minute panic attempt at signing Kalou on loan?
He's signed as a back up to Arteta, Flamini, Wilshere and Ramsey. Just another option if required. He may even be behind Ox and Rosicky in centre midfield.
He'll hardly play unless we have the mother of all injury crises, in which case he's as good a 5th choice as can be expected. And has finally seen Frimpong denched out the club.
Don't think that's embarrassing at all.
Now, the ridiculous decision not to sign a striker in summer or January is another matter altogether!!!!

Podolski definitely signed right at start of transfer window. Remember thinking at time it made it seem more likely that RVP would leaveg88ner wrote:Well there you go, I'm going mad.clockender1 wrote:nope - pod went on that marketing trip to Qatar & Nigeria while the squad were in Viet Nam etc.

Podolski also played pre-season for us as one of his first games-presumably as part of the agreements of his transfer-was against his old club cologne whom he scored against
So nope you're not going mad. Not on this occasion at least
