THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

AKB's all over Twitter last night saying people (WOBs) are deliberately misinterpreting his words about building the club. Others pointing out that he did in fact build the club.
We have called him deluded (with reason) for a long time but I now realise he is more disrespectful than deluded. It is not just that he spouts gibberish and spin and believes in it , I now see him as more sinister in he is spouting what his sheep want to hear while carrying out a more self serving agenda. History is full of such people . He is clearly obsessed with himself to the point that he is happy to distort history. It is like the dictator in North Korea telling the starving children they have never had it so good.
I'm not convinced we should call him The Old Fool anymore . think he is more than that and it is our football club that is and will continue to suffer.

I think a lot Wenger's arrogance is based on the fact he is surrounded by yes men at the club. Can you imagine anyone at the club criticizing him, questioning him in any way, even offering constructive criticism. The once or twice a week he meets the media is the only time when an independent source(John wanker Cross being the exception) has access to ask him proper questions, and we see how he acts when those questions are ones he dislikes. I remember Stewart Robson telling the story before of a coach who the club had newly employed, and the coach not knowing the status Quo criticized the way the players were being trained, he was promptly told to keep his opinions to himself, because if Wenger heard him, he would be gone. His actions are similar to the religious nuts who know their beliefs are bullshit, and could easily be torn apart, so they do everything to stop non-religious people from having a voice.

You know what is going to make everyone here even madder??

Wonga will use all this 'pressure' to get a better contract. He'll let it be known internally he is seriously concerned, thinking of leaving, Kranky and the directors will shit themselves that the puppet master could leave and they offer him an even better contract....maybe 10m a year before financial bonuses. Wonga will have that little smug smile to himself and think......I love me so much........ :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Wenger you did not build Arsenal. Graham left you a great team to work with. I doubt you would have had your early success without that. Yes we moved Stadium but that would have to have happened anyway.
By staying you have stopped us from signing Klop or Guardeola who are now under long term contracts so you have left us in the shit.
Arsenal are boring under you because it's the same every year and you and Kronke are damaging our global reputation

this I think will what will get rid of Wenger.

yes Kroenke is a close friend of Wenger but he also happens to be a ruthless successful businessman.
if he sees that Wenger is now starting to hurt his profit making then he will get rid of him.

I would like to ask the ST holders who keep renewing their ST's and vitually keeping Wenger in a job.How much worse does it have to get for you to say enough is enough.Because as Wenger said yesterday he aint going nowhere. And that means more of what we have seen for the last 12 years.Or are you all members of the Cult of Wenger

This has now gone too far. If any one person built Arsenal then it was Herbert Chapman not that deluded old has been. The real truth is that it is the likes of myself and you guys that support the club and our fathers before us that have put the Arsenal where it was and we all deserve better than this. Dont give a fuck about short term results anymore i just want Wenger and his cronies out and my club back. Fear it might be too late.

I have been saying this for the past 3 years and keep getting shouted down.
to be honest I do find it understandable - after all why should I tell season ticket holders to give up their tickets?

what I find most infuriating about ST holders is that some of them believe they can buy a ticket but not support Wenger.
er hello......by buying a ticket then that puts you in the Arsene Wenger fan club whether you like it or not.

Is it not a legitimate argument to say that not renewing their ST will mean fuck all, as someone else will be there on the waiting list to replace them?

I'm thinking Perry needs some anger management classes before he has a stroke or something.]
Yes, I fucking do. I might go for a lie down in that bed with the banner on it.

Oh but haven't you heard Donaldo? ST shee....errrr sorry I meant ST holders "support the club". They don't support Lord A-hole or Kroenke! The best way to show this? Hand the tosspot trio £1500 cash up front. Because keeping their profit margins sky-high is defo gonna "support the club" by keeping Wenker in the hot seat and giving Kroenke the financial rationale to keep everything as it is
It would be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic....

No. It isn't legitimate. It's a spineless copout that assumes that the imaginary 30,000 waiting list people are so desperate to overpay to watch Giroud, Wankcott and Welbz. Bear in mind that at the time many people got on that waiting list, Arsenal had Henry, RVP, Cesc et al and we're starting to accumulate cash. Fast forward and the football is shite, regular empty seats (despite attendance figures) and the cash is hoarded, never spent. Kroenke real intentions have also been now exposed. Arsenal aren't Barca, who win the lot and people would die to watch. We are a mediocre team, with overpaid tossers, who choke in the same Groundhog way every year. And managed by a Premium C**t. ST holders make that argument to justify their cowardice IMO

Seriously guys this is getting tedious. There are a whole load of ST holders who want Wenger out but are not going to sacrifce their ticket for it. Constantly berating and insulting them isn't going to change anyone's mind and is really dull to read over and over. :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah:
