ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Apparently MLS has signed a new contract

https://charleswatts.football/news/excl ... -contract/

🚨 Myles Lewis-Skelly close to signing new contract at Arsenal. Fresh long-term deal to make 18yo England int’l among world’s best-paid young players. Mikel Arteta vital to #AFC renewal; negotiated by mother Marcia Lewis @TheAthleticFC after @charles_watts
You what….legohead has had mrs skelly round for tea and biscuits to thrash out a deal.

The thoughts of Legohead being “vital” to anything at all fills me with dread, he’s been vital to our striker search for the last 2 years and look where we are, staring down the barrel of doesn’t havertz look great in training.

Perhaps since Mrs skelly is so adept at negotiating we could employ her to take part in striker search 25??

Could we get Marcia over to Leipzig and Lisbon and get those ones done?

When they come out with crap about the cone boy being vital to lewis skelly signing a new deal, then you know that they are aware that the fanbase are being to turn against him or at least question him

Exactly the same as all those stories we had about players leaving if Wanker left. He stayed, they left.

⤵️ As reported and confirmed: There is NO full agreement yet between Benjamin #Sesko and Arsenal. RB Leipzig are demanding €80–100 million. 🇸🇮

Ffs just go to Newcastle throw 120m on the table for Isak and see what response you get instead of all this fucking around

Everyone knows we need a striker. We have to buy one. So the price will have £20m added to it once we come knocking.

How the fuck is it that when the ScouseFilth or Cheaty buy a player and 99% of the time we don't hear about it till it's done.....Instead of how we do things.... VERY Badly.... FFS... The Banter we Gooners have to endure in off-season as well..

I thought the new Sporting Director was supposed to be 'Top Notch' according to John Cwoss and other media outlet's, we so far he doesn't seem to have done fuck all except let Gyokeres and Sesko's clubs and agents know we NEED them... then we have fucked about with lame offers instead of just stumping up the Cash! (and yes, yes, yes the players clubs are probably playing 'hard ball'... but the way we seem to enter into negotiations sounds amateurish !

As many have said this is so reminiscent of Wanker...

One bit he got completely wrong is the bit about Carpark-Foot Partey having had a good season last season. It's a myth in my opinion.

Yes, he wasn't as utterly shit every game as he was in every other season, but he still had as many shit games as good games (and probably slightly more shit games than good games).

And even in the games where we could say he played well, he often still made mistakes and pissed posession away.

So he had a less shit season than normal. Is that good enough? Not for me, it's not. Get rid.

Cant agree - they are advocating upgrading on the likes of trossard, tomyaisu and zinchenko but they are all back up players and saying we need to upgrade our back ups is suggesting that our first 11 is good enough and we know that isnt the case. Where are the journo's with balls that will stand up and call out our disappearing captain and say that we need an upgrade there ? This guy seems to be teflon to the media cos not one of them are shining a spotlight on him despite being absolutely dogshite last season. I get that we as fans watch our team all the time whilst journo's move from club to club, so its understandable that we would be more aware of his long standing habit of going missing in big games than journo's who dont cover us 100% of the time, but last season he was a shit show from beginning to end and they still wont criticise him. We need an upgrade on his position as the number 1 priority cos any striker we do buy will be hindered by this c.unt fcuking about tippy tappy on the ball instead of releasing him, so thinking a top striker and winger will fix our issues whilst ignoring our captain is naive to say the least
