ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Apparently MLS has signed a new contract

https://charleswatts.football/news/excl ... -contract/

🚨 Myles Lewis-Skelly close to signing new contract at Arsenal. Fresh long-term deal to make 18yo England int’l among world’s best-paid young players. Mikel Arteta vital to #AFC renewal; negotiated by mother Marcia Lewis @TheAthleticFC after @charles_watts

When they come out with crap about the cone boy being vital to lewis skelly signing a new deal, then you know that they are aware that the fanbase are being to turn against him or at least question him
Exactly the same as all those stories we had about players leaving if Wanker left. He stayed, they left.
It's utter shit, isn't it. Of course a player will say that he is signing because of the current manager - he wants to be picked to play ffs!

He's hardly likely to say "yeah I've signed the new contract in spite of the manager being a bit shit".

The media and some of our mong fans buy this shit too.

while im not generally a fan of 365 writing its reasonably hard to argue with whats been said here.
Having read 365, it confirms my worst fears that this club is in full blown crisis, the window has been a total utter monumental failure. And its unlikely we will sign anyone. Which means (based on our run of fixtures) we finish 5th - 7th.

That then means getting in a second rate new manager and having to sell saliba or saka

The next couple of seasons are write offs. So fucking annoying as the kronkes will be so happy. In business being the 2nd best company is successful. Being a the 2nd best in the prem means we are total failures.

Sick and tired of watching everyone else excited for the season and spending literal billions on squads

One bit he got completely wrong is the bit about Carpark-Foot Partey having had a good season last season. It's a myth in my opinion.

Yes, he wasn't as utterly shit every game as he was in every other season, but he still had as many shit games as good games (and probably slightly more shit games than good games).

And even in the games where we could say he played well, he often still made mistakes and pissed posession away.

So he had a less shit season than normal. Is that good enough? Not for me, it's not. Get rid.
Absolutely spot on DB..The commentary on Talk shite of the 2nd goal we lost in Paris sums the prick up.."Partey is caught ball watching...and it's 2-0 to PSG and they are heading to Munich" This and the fact he missed the first leg because of a stupid late yellow in Madrid when the game was done sums the *word censored* up for me..Fucking arsehole that he is.As you say get rid of the fucker..He will miss a load of games with the Afcon in January as well.

Thomas Partey is set to leave Arsenal, a source has told ESPN.

The Ghana midfielder, whose contract expires in June, is not expected to re-sign with Mikel Arteta's side ❌ - @ESPNUK

——

🚨❤️🤍 Arsenal will pay slightly more than €60m release clause as part of the pact with Real Sociedad for Martin Zubimendi deal.

The fee will be bit higher but allowing payment in installments as clubs share excellent relationship.

Here we go, confirmed. ✅🔐 - @FabrizioRomano

Cant agree - they are advocating upgrading on the likes of trossard, tomyaisu and zinchenko but they are all back up players and saying we need to upgrade our back ups is suggesting that our first 11 is good enough and we know that isnt the case. Where are the journo's with balls that will stand up and call out our disappearing captain and say that we need an upgrade there ? This guy seems to be teflon to the media cos not one of them are shining a spotlight on him despite being absolutely dogshite last season. I get that we as fans watch our team all the time whilst journo's move from club to club, so its understandable that we would be more aware of his long standing habit of going missing in big games than journo's who dont cover us 100% of the time, but last season he was a shit show from beginning to end and they still wont criticise him. We need an upgrade on his position as the number 1 priority cos any striker we do buy will be hindered by this c.unt fcuking about tippy tappy on the ball instead of releasing him, so thinking a top striker and winger will fix our issues whilst ignoring our captain is naive to say the least
Sorry..yeah i took the comments on trossard, tomyaisu etc as being reasonable if the reader was already over the fact that the starting 11 are not up to it. It never occurred to me that the a reader of the article might be under the impression/illusion that only small changes are needed.

It’s West London slang for ‘“another hopeless Chav reject”. Happy to help.
