The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

This Sanchez deal is now officially in Higuain territory. I'm not going to say anything in case I jinx it.
Mate (and please be aware that I'm saying this because I care about you as a fellow Gooner), how can you possibly say that?

This deal isn't officially anywhere. Nor was the Higuain deal. It was and still is, all paper talk. No one except fucking journos have said anything about this. So, while it is in the realms of possibility, I seriously urge you to not get your hopes up with this.

I'd say between 1 and 5% of all transfer rumours over the summer end up happening. That's all this is for now. A rumour.
What I mean by "Higuain territory" is that as with Higuain last year everything seems to be in place except for the two clubs agreeing a fee, and that the deal may now either be completed or fall through.

This is not a just rumor by the way. All the top sources have claimed we are in talks with Barca and Alexis is keen on joining us. Fingers crossed, it's gonna be a ride so fasten your seatbelts.

We never once spoke to Higuain or his agent. According to the player himself, that never happened. To quote him verbatim"Arsenal did not speak to me, I heard the club's were talking about a fee then Napoli came and bought me".

Like the Sanchez deal we are being used to bump the fee up so Barcawhores have less to pay. To get Sanchez would involve our board and manager accepting they are being used, say f**k that slap some serious money on the table or move on.

But We never spoke to High. Not at all.

Usual thing - one or two sources print a rumour and then the other outlets are tripping over themselves to deliver the latest scoop on the transfer (which may be bollocks) because they don't want to miss out. Snowball down a hill.

I think we were interested in Higuain last year but just tried to lowball them from the off. This idea that they reneged on an agreed fee was conjured up by media outlets who had been claiming that a deal that was in reality nowhere near agreed would be finalised in 48 hours or whatever and needed to invent a twist to explain this away and keep printing the big story.

Yes, but even if it doesn't happen quite a few of us will go to bed tonight excited (oooo errr misssus  ) and dream happy dreams...even if we wake tomorrow to hear they've gone elsewhere - So let us dream while we may - for tomorrow we may all be brown bread!

We're gonna sign Kalou :banghead:

Kalou is one of my all time most loathed players of all time!

His stupid fucking face pissed me off every time he was shown on the box when he played for Chelsea. He looks like someone gave a lobotomy to a fucking gecko! And that stupid fucking butterfly thing he does as a celebration when he bundles a ball in the back to the net with that stupid smile!!! I don't want to see that in an Arsenal shirt :banghead:

Not to mention he is of little skill and usually does fuck all.

Don't panic, it's our tried and tested smokescreen policy - pretend we have other viable targets, so we don't get pressured by Barca into paying the asking price for Sanchez (works like a dream every time......... )

Is funny how people believe transfer speculation when it suits them and rubbishes rumours when it suits their agenda.

There's not a chance in hell of us signing Kalou in my view.
We only registered interest in him very close to the deadline in the last window.

Chill out and wait until developments in the coming weeks........

Turnipmasher, I think you'll find our not so dearly Baba has been reincarnated as Dikechukwu.

Apparently the 'd' I'd silent but I'll let you be the judge of that.

On an unrelated note....
