THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Ha, I was more thinking of the bench. Bergkamp, Pires and Lauren. Class and steel.

Our little snow flakes keeping the conveyor belt of gems rolling....

Gabriel: "We have a great chance to be champions this season. We do not throw in the towel."

Koscielny: "When you don’t have Santi for 4 months and Welbeck for 10, it’s complicated to challenge certain teams."

We don't only need wenker gone, but there has to be a mass clear out of these brainwashed softies parading around in our shirt on match day. Wenker has schooled them well in the art of excuse mongering and inane utterances. Quite nauseating these players popping up to spout bollocks over the past couple of weeks during which they've pretty much bottled every campaign for the season.

Notice he couldn't mention Leicester (nearly relegated last season) and Spurs (forever in our shadow) by name because that would underline how much of a failure Arsenal's season has been.

Like Leicester?

In fact you could probably pay the wages of the two sides likely to finish above us out of our budget and still have change to spare.

Its the wry smile when responding to criticism that gets me. He has this demeanor that suggests any concern for Arsenal is false, and he sees something we all cant see. Even though the years have proven its the critics and fans who get it right, whilst Wenger's judgement is typically wrong.

Usmanov rolled out now....

But the billionaire businessman, who is the club’s second-largest shareholder behind owner Stan Kroenke, insists Wenger must stay.

Arsenal’s results are stable. They are always among the leaders of the English Premier League,’ he said. ‘This is a good and large sports business project and I am pleased with it.

‘The only thing is that today such a situation has occurred, but, like in any sport, there are ups and downs. The club must retain its major symbol and main asset — manager Arsene Wenger.

The results are stable.... isn't that just what big clubs aim for "stable results"??? "Large sports business project" What are you talking about you fat slob??

The truth is this is just another fat pig with his snout buried in the money trough. The ungrateful fans can go swing, we don't know how lucky we are :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:

But remember, its Kroenke we need out isnt it? Not Wenger, or so we keep being told on here.

Yea ok, lets keep Wenger, bring in Usmanov an have another 10 years of 4th place glory while Liverpool, Man U, City, even Spurs all get stronger.

Thinking that changing owner is going to affect anything on the pitch while Wenger remains, or that a new owner will suddenly sack Wenger is just plain ridiculous

Yet another fantastic idea from Mr Deluded:

http://metro.co.uk/2016/03/26/arsene-we ... s-5776697/

How there can be any doubt about Wenger's inability after a statement like that i just don't know...

10 years, just over 80 goals and another 5 years, so roughly 130 goals in 15 years if we are lucky now compare that to TH, IW and DB and then compare relative wages too :banghead:

"Wenger believes he has improved greatly since being at Arsenal"???? Really..... how bad he was when he arrived then??

And as for "sealing a transfer away". First of all nobody wants him. Secondly who in their right mind would pay him 140k per week?? And thirdly if Wenger leaves Walcott will be FORCED to "seal a transfer" as he won't get a game under a new manager. I mean this crap Wenger spouts, Walcott cannot even get a start under him!!!

I just cannot understand how a man who is supposedly so intelligent can make these statements which run so contrary to the obvious facts about an individual player never mind the ones about 'leaders all over the pitch' and such like.

Maybe we are all deluded, maybe we are misreading the evidence of our own eyes?

Okay we don't see what happens in training and maybe in training things are completely different but what i do do is watch every Arsenal match it is in my ability to do so live or on TV, it makes absolutely no difference in my eyes the evidence i see on the pitch from the following players is that they are just not good enough week in week out, Theo, Olly, Per, Aaron, Ox, Gibbs, Flamini.

There are others who on current showing are lacking as well, Sanchez, Gabriel, Kos and Bellerin for a start.

There are players such as Mikel, Tomas and Jack who are out so regularly due to injury that it is impossible to make an informed statement although the lack of availability is damning enough in itself.

That is 14 players from our squad alone who just aren't either good enough, fit enough or putting in regular excellent displays.

I've left out some players from the list such as Ozil, Campbell, Chambers, Iwobu and Welbeck for different reasons but again i'm not sure other than Ozil any of those would have got in our League winning teams of the past.

Yet Arsene time and time again backs our players no matter how good or bad the individual or team performance is and expects us to agree and follow his lead, delusional does not even begin to describe our manager :banghead:
