We are clearly trying to sign a striker. I don't think that can be argued.
However whether it's the right one is a another colored horse to be abused by tranny dwarves on stepladders, completely, and one that only time will tell I suspect.
And if that striker ousys havertz. Again a different argument.
Unless of course we believe it's all smoke and mirrors and the rumors are dropped by the club to make us hope. I'm not that cynical.
And I also don't think we should have our pants pulled down on one either, at least this early stage. If nothing by mid July then panic
I haven't been saying that we won't sign a striker, what I've been saying is that we won't sign one that justifies benching Havertz. That will apply to Sesko, who will be rotated with the German if we get him.
It would be more difficult not to make Gyokeres a definite starter, given his age and scoring record...no guarantees that will translate to the PL, but the fans would expect him to be given a decent run of games to prove himself. With Sesko, sorry for repeating myself, because I've said this more than once, but we'll be told that he's young, needs time to settle, to adjust to the PL and the different approach in England etc etc. It will allow Havertz game time as Lego Head rotates them.
All that said, I'm now starting to think that we might not sign a CF. As Perry says, Arteta might try to convince the supporters that an expensive winger or attacking midfielder is the answer. I just don't think Lego Head is willing to replace Havertz as his first choice "striker" and I use the term very loosely.
Again, hope I'm wrong. We'll see.
