has it crossed anyone's mind yet that maybe goetze is not THAT good, and that maybe instead of spending around 35 millions on him we could do with more players? we need a second choice keeper, a left back, a striker, maybe another winger... and we're gonna spend it all on him? you do realize that if we spend that much on him we're not signing any other big names anytime soon, right? (unless we sell one our top players as well)

i haven't seen much of him, i haven't even figured it out if he's more of a central attacking midfielder or a winger, but i'm scared of putting all the eggs in one basket.

i'd really rather we spent that money on a top striker, since it's clearly the position where we are weaker (rvp's not exactly made of steel, you know).

Yeah, Götze is THAT good. Will be world class very soon, if he isn't already.

I have stated elsewhere on here that I am prepared to be mocked, but I am convinced it will happen.....my source is adamant it will happen and they have never been wrong

He's sustained an apparent injury. A cover up by Dortmund if he is actually in London perhaps?

I don't want a fucking winger, *word censored* off Wenger, sign a striker to back up RVP as the ones you have signed are fucking useless, then a left back to replace the ricket-making Brazilian you signed in the summer then got injured playing in a meaningless game, then a top class DM, then another fucking small, pacy attacking midfielder

i'm taking the piss mate

but i will be seriously astonished if we sign a player of that calibre and, specially, price tag. sounds unbelievable, that would break our transfer record by a large margin, he shouldn't cost less than TWICE what arshavin cost.

if we do so, then i'll be pleased about our teams ambition. really, really happy. that's the kind of player we should be aiming for (considering that he is as good as people say, i personally know little of him).

but still, and you have to understand that given our transfer history, i doubt you with all my strength mate!

i think we really need a winger, mate. think about it, we need two in our current formation. gervinho is good but his finishing is good as hleb's and theo, well, you know theo. he's a good player on his day but he has one trick, which is running past players. defend deep and theo's fucked. AND he's injury prone.

arshavin is no winger, we all know that (wenger doesn't  ), and with his work rate he can just fuck right off. chamberlain is highly inexperienced, we can't rely on him just yet. benayoun is decent, but won't set the world alight, and he's only here for the season. rosicky is not a winger too, and even if he was, he's not the same anymore.

i am almost as worried in the winger position as i am in the striker one.

funnily enough, the position where we are best served right now is centreback  which was one of the biggest reason for our recent failures in past seasons

Was at the Dortmund game yesterday & they were really lacking ideas until Goetze came off the bench mid way through the second half. He pulls a lot of strings...

This has "Frank and Joe Cole" written all over it.

It will all end in tears. 8)
