It's early days I know but the italians could be a dark horse and I have said that for a while - they are a funny breed and very much inclined to pull together when in adversity so the match fixing scandal might bond them The only thing I will say is that their subs bench is piss poor - the lack of options up front is frightening and lets face it ballotelli is not somebody that you want to plan your tactics around.

Was quite impressed with cassano, pirlo and bonnucci in that half, early days though as you say.

This. He is a total confidence player and the media/opposition fans on his back every minute of the game, with every misplaced pass or scuffed shot doesn't help. Despite the fact that he plays for those blue *word censored* I do feel for him. I think he'll be back off to Spain soon.
