Re: Forget the Wenger hate, and admit its a great turnaround

Wenger might have remembered what he had forgotton, he is getting results no quuestion

Fairplay to the team they are having ago beating the scum 5-2 and The Arsenal's response on the pitch have taken the pressure off the Mad Proffessor. In my View nothing will change at The Arsenal untill we have a Board/Owners that want success on the pitch not just profits in the bank. :banghead:

Wenger needs to be more ruthless abit lke Red Nose. Players need to fear as well as repect the manager :cussing:

I'll be the first to admit that I am shocked that the team managed to win the last 4 league games because Sunderland, Spurs, Liverpool and Newcastle were definitely all potential defeats, especially with the way this season and this team were going. I would never have backed 12 points from those games even at long odds.

However, when all is said and done we are still miles away from mounting a title challenge, as far away as ever as from winning the CL and out of all the domestic cups. If you'd asked most Gooners that trudged away from Craven Cottage in despair at the end of last season would they have settled for a new season where we sold 2 of our best players, were heading towards Easter with CL qualification hanging firmly in the balance and out of all the cups, the answer would have been a resounding "no".......so I'm not sure why that view should change now it is a reality

Should we be relieved and happy as fans that we still have a chance of the CL places? Of course

Should we let it cloud our judgement as we head towards another inevitably painful transfer window and with the latest club captain's contract renewal about to cause a media circus? No

We are in the same place under Wenger and the management team as we have been ever since we moved to the Emirates. I don't see any evidence of long term change for the good of the club. All I see is a decent recent run of form that should receive due praise in that context i.e. of winning some very difficult games.

Thought Points of View was in it's heyday when presented by Barry Took.

Reckon Wenger would be a very diplomatic presenter, if forced to state an opinion on a show he could always use the time honoured get out clause of, "I didn't see it".

I think Wenger will step down when the contract is up, and I feel he will join the board when the time arises. I do feel he has been unlucky with many issues and with a stroke or two of luck the trophy years that stretch around the Hrove would have had 2006 CL winners, cementing his time at Arsenal as a real managerial legend. The 2007 CC with the AFC kids would have been a real joy and should have happened, and the Gallas strop season really should have ended in our fourth Prem title.

For me Wenger needs to step down and before this win one more trophy, I feel it's close and who knows when, but I do feel Wenger's legacy won't be felt properly for another decade or so.

Big admirer of Wenger and hes done a hell of a lot for the club but I think he may need to try and take a slight change in appraoch- particuarly in the transfer market- if he is to win the trophy he deserves so he can bow out on the high point his great era at the club merits

I think Wenger will leave when his present contract is up, he has overstayed his tenure- which is very sad (and frustrating) as I for one would have liked to remember him fondly for all the good he undoubtedly did for us, but he has blown that, and will like many managers who depart other clubs be remembered with mixed feelings by fans.

Who knows maybe Pep will be ready to return to football management by then??

I think that it would be a fcuking disgrace if wenger is allowed stay in charge for another two seasons like the past 3 or 4  It is like we are being asked to write off the next two seasons to allow a "has been" see out his contract regardless of what expense it entails - maybe we should ask the club if we can all defer our season tickets for two years until somebody grows a pair and rids our club of the ego/dictator
