Van Persie saga, officially not extending contract.

Yes I agree. He is holding us back much in the same way that Vieira, Henry, Nasri, Cole and Fabregas were all holding us back.

I personally say we sell him and 'rebuild' and go 'in transition' for the next 2-3 years. That will give Arsene 10 years and who knows, we might see a team good enough to even finish 2nd at the end of that!!! I say sell RVP, his 30 league goals are holding us back. If only he'd been able to match the professionalism of our 'top class' defenders Kos and Verm (who let in 49 goals), and Song, we would have done so much better.

Just like Cesc who was holding back Ramsey and Denilson, I think we are better off flogging this joker.
:rubchin:

To be fair we sold Nasri and Cesc and finished one place better off.

We may sell van Persie and Podolski may lead us to 2nd.

Jesus christ Babatunde is turning this forum into a right bore fest. Can we not just copy-paste the one post he makes over and over again, put it in a sticky on the top of the page entitled 'what would babatunde say?' and then ban him? If we ever get stuck and need his opinion we can just consult the thread.

Win-win, as they say.

Hmmmm
:rubchin:

RVP owes Arsenal nothing.

If anything, Arsenal owe him.
Think about it. He has been there 8 years, and in that time only started earning the big bucks two-three years ago...
Now tally up his wages he has made in that period; and ask yourself, what the Champions League revenue he has brought us (£40 mil) is worth?

Make no mistake he has single handedly dragged this shower of shite into 3rd by himself. That is worth £40 million in television revenue and UEFA cash, as well as ST renewals.

There is no chance in hell Arsenal have given RVP that much. Nonsense.

He owes Arsenal nothing. If anything, he owes it to himself to go and win trophies, his talent is wasted alongside shite like Gervinho, Chamakh, Diaby, Song etc...
He leaves with all my best wishes.

Like I have always said, it baffles me how our fans will consistently try and make out the problem is captain, after captain leaving us - whilst the REAL problem, the REAL culprit you should be heckling is staring you all right in the face. Yes, the arrogant sod on £7 mil per year to achieve the root sum of fuck all...
Totally correct. One really has to question Robin's ambition if he stays. Of course 99% of me wants him to stay as we are so poor that to lose him would be a disaster. But 1% of me wants him to go to confirm to the world that the game is up for Wenger - and ultimately the biggest change this Club needs is to see the back of a manager who can no longer motivate the team.

Just bumping this back to the top.
Its what we all should be talking about. Am I right in saying these talks are being held now ?
Seems to be taking some time and no news coming out of Arsenal FC.

Van Persie is leaving.

why on earth would he stay if there is no investment made to the team.
Kroenke is the tightest billionaire on the planet. He does not have a clue and Van Persie knows this

Yep, and seeing Chelsea lift the CL will only bring home to him how we've slipped even lower down the list of 'big clubs' England.

Never mind, Park's finished his year of adaption now

actually I'm thinking that SANTOS could be seen as a replacement for Park/Chamakh. After all he has scored more goals than both of these put together this season

I actually think he wants to stay. Perhaps Wenger has said to him to wait and see who comes in and then make his decision.

From the transfer thread:

Just wait and see. People need to stop speculating.

Well firstly I'm glad you notice my posts.

What this is, is an opinion. I'm not pretending to know. Its not even speculation about what he might do. I just don't like people going 'He's off' when you don't know for a fact that to be the case.
