Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to make a shock £10million move for Liverpool's out-of-favour winger Stewart Downing in the January transfer window

Via Twitter

According to the Mail, Wenger was outbid by Liverpool when he wanted to sign Downing in 2011 as a replacement for Nasri

Unbelievable... as I've said on the Wenger POV thread... he's doing this on purpose... :banghead: :banghead:
If we end up signing this useless wanker it'll echo Graham's last days when he signed useless shit like Jimmy Carter and Kiwomya.. (the player, not the forum member on here that is)

There's about as much chance as there is West Brom heading into the Christmas period in the top four :D

New Nicklas Bendtner' Andreas Cornelius is Arsenal transfer target

Arsenal are ready to battle AC Milan for teenage FC Copenhagen striker Andreas Cornelius who, worryingly for fans, is dubbed 'the new Nicklas Bendtner'.

The 19-year-old centre forward, who has already scooped two caps for Denmark, has established himself as a regular in the Copenhagen team, scoring 10 goals in 19 appearances.

It’s a rapid rise that has not gone unnoticed across Europe, with AC Milan sending scouts to monitor his progress on three separate occasions in the last few months.

Indeed, Milan are said to be so impressed with Cornelius, that they have already decided to lodge a £3million bid when the January transfer opens.

But the Serie A outfit will have a fight on their hands to land the player, with Arsenal also joining the chase after a tip-off from their Scandinavian scout Bobby Bennett.

Bennett is credited with finding and negotiating the deal for Nicklas Bendtner in 2004, but is said to rate Cornelius even higher.

At 6'4" and with excellent technique, the comparisons with Bendtner are clear, but Cornelius is recognised as more of a target man – known for his prowess in the air.

It’s thought Copenhagen were unwilling to part with the player in January, but may consider selling now if they have an option to keep the player on loan until the end of the season.

++++

Fucking hell, I've seen it all now...   :banghead:

How shit must he be to be dubbed ''The new Nicholas Bendtner'' :?

We spend two years trying to get rid of the 'old' Nicklas Bendtner, only to go and try signing the new one.

Great stuff

Is there an 18 year old, paceless Moroccan we can chase as the new Maryanne, or a Polish clown we can sign as the new Fabianski

I think we have. When criticised over his latest animated motion film, Mr Magoo said "I do not need to sit here in front of you and answer all your questions. I have worked in films for over 30 years - how many of you have starred in animated films?"
