Re: WBA GAME THREAD
Fuck knows how a useless pos like Gervinho got here. That *word censored* can't kick a ball to save his life. A travesty that such shytte could ever wear an Arsenal shirt. Further indictment on Wenger's stewardship after he persisted with the dross for 85 minutes, even substituted a very effective Ox before him.
We were dire in that final 3rd. Should have bagged this one by at least 5-0 tbh. We need a quality striker asap. Giroud has presence but that's about it. He'd flourish in a team that puts in a lot of crosses, but sadly, that's not really our style. Also, he looks like a shackled prisoner when the ball is at his feet and an opportunity to strike presents itself.
On a positive note, our midfield was excellent today. They were all over the pitch, arriving in numbers when we advanced, and neutered most of WBA's advances, thereby allowing our defence to effectively maintain a high line. Sir Ches will probably not an easier time for the rest of the season. WBA were hardly in our half and when they did get into our final 3rd, they were quickly defanged by our defensive unit. Gibbs did a fantastic job keeping Oderwingie anonymous up until the time he was substituted.
As for Wilshere, that boy bleeds Arsenal. Immense talent coupled with great passion and drive to be a winner. Cazorla, a class player capable of making some really incisive passes. Did appear to have dived, but not a single fuck is given, as, imo, it was more of an evasive reaction after realising the injury risk he faced then and there. Arteta showed great courage stepping up to the spot on both occasions and calmly converted the penalties. Surely that horrific miss against Fulham must have replayed in his mind on both occasions, but he didn't allow that to shot his confidence.
All in all, a few flashes of classic Arsenal was on display. I suspect that some raking over the coals took place with these players - most likely from Bould as Wenger would never hurt the kids. Let's see how long the effects last.

GO ON MY SON

Re: WBA GAME THREAD
At the moment though it is showing signs of being overrun with Japanese knotweed. Thankfully the Percy Thrower of Arsenal i.e. Lord Wenger of Moralhighgroundsville, has started the deweeding process and hopefully will lay down some hardier shrubs at Bradford during midweek.Herd wrote:Dont care how we won ,we won ,all is not Rosy but the garden hasn't died .
Full bloom is expected to occur in Newcastle in May, when the garden will be fully transformed into the best virtual flower display in living memory

condenm Santi all you want yet I look at it as a long overdue rub of the green, we were due some favour shining on us at lomg last

Looking ahead to our next few fixturs I see that if we can put some kind of 'run' together over the Christmas period, then we might climb the table a place or two

We can dare to dream, can't we

I honestly believe we have a good bunch of players - just need a top, top striker to replace RVP and proper tactics and man management

Yes as a first 11 it looks pretty good, but either the formation and or tactics ( there is a difference) is not gettting the best out of the players we have out there.
Too many occasions we appear to just expect the opposition to allow us to win a game and look totally unprepared when they have the audacity to have a different plan than rolling over and letting us win.
Against a well organised and diciplined team we can quickly run out of idea's and easily get stifled, making us look very ordinary indeed.
You have to earn the right to win a match, not enough in our team are prepared to battle for it and not enough are willing to actually run at players and take them on, which is why with Jack back we look a different team as he has the ability to ghost past people with the ball in dangerous area's.
Wenger's say nothing at half time, let them reflect and work it out for themsleves routine, clearly doesn't work on players who do not posess the ability, acumen or braincells of the like of Vieira, Henry, Cole , Bergkamp etc
