QPR GAME THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The thought of thrashing about versus the dross in the group stages like a drowning kitten is enough to make my stomach turn. Oh the utter pointlessness of it all.

Szczesny deserves credit for his performance today. That save from Remy was absolute top drawer.

And if - which is more likely - we finish level with Sp*rs on points, it's games like Newcastle (7-3), Reading (4-1, 5-2), Sp*rs (5-2) and West Ham (5-1) to thank!!

We won... that's a positive, and yet I get the feeling some (many) on here are looking very hard for negatives? :o
I agree.....we should all be grateful that the founding father is set to stay until 2017. I have uncorked a bottle of my finest vintage to celebrate the occasion

We won yes, but we could also have very easily drawn or even lost. That QPR team were total toilet and any team with real ambition of finishing towards the top end of the table should have put that game away within 30 mins, particularly after scoring so early. Yet they drew confidence from the fact that we seemed totally clueless after the first 15 mins.

An important 3 points but a performance that nobody can draw any pride from. And it makes you wonder what the point of even trying for the fourth place trophy is. Based on the performance of recent weeks, we're as far away from winning the CL as we've ever been.

The pitch was shit regardless of whether Wenger said it or not. As for whether it's an excuse or not... we hardly need it... we won!

Twitcher talking up his team's performance saying that they held their own against a team that went to bayern and won.....of course he ignored the fact that his team had just lost to a team beaten by the mighty Bradford and Blackburn

Thank you so much Ivan and Stan.......I've never known such ballbusting excitement in all my years following the Arsenal.....now will you please please please please sign Arsene up for 3 more years so we can carry on destroying our rival clubs like QPR with performances like the one we witnessed today.......and we're now 8 points above moneybags Everton too.....I think I'm going to rip my cock off

Fuck me, that's depressing :(

We probably won't win, so why bother trying? jesus wept :(

Sport would be fucked with that attitude. You'd have just Usain Bolt entering the 100m; only Real and Barca playing in the whole of Spain; only Nadal, Federer, Murray and Djokovic bothering to enter the Grand slams; only a drugged up Lance Armstrong entering the Tour de France; only A P McCoy turning up with his horse.... etc. etc. And how boring would sport be then without anyone willing to compete with the elite? - fuck it, let skip straight to the CL and FA Cup semi-final every year and do away with the trivial matter of letting inferior clubs bother competing; after all, what's the point? :o

You can't have that attitude. Sport is bigger than that. You HAVE to try.
