As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Just stick to talking endlessly of BBQ's . Must admit it was funny the first time................
Find the Giroud and Koscielny posts you made then........
Ha ha. Mate.
You called me a Wengerite and a turncoat. I asked you to back it up.
Can you? No. Why? Caus you made it up.
You also brought 1989 into it. Why? Explain yourself......
Read all of his recent posts. Then read your clever clogs "oh SteveO got it sooooo wrong about 3 players" shite knowing full well you held similar views. Then have a look at Piers Morgan's posts about Ramsey this season and last season
Armchair just about sums it up. You doing any interviewing in the US at the moment......
Worst kind of fan going. Arsene is dead.....long live the Arsene.......fuck that Ramsey right off......Rambo for captain.....fucking clown Koscielny........new Tony Adams.......*word censored* RvP.....build Flamini a statue
Very very sad. If you can't see it fine, play your little "I told you so" bullshit juvenile games
armchair supporter wrote:Ah so now the Marseille Mercenary is doing well. Praise indeed.
Turncoat.
So am I a banner wanker? Or are you just making up shit cause you cant think of anything to post except BBQ's (hilarious) and ....

Herd might even sign you up for the Burberry scarf club at this rate
I think you need to actually look at what a turncoat is. Posting pictures of you with the banner from LAST season.....me agreeing with you and praising you for showing the banner.......you backing down from the banner......me still backing it......now Piers......I think even a man of your limitations might work out who has changed their views along the way. Forget my last post or just skipped over it........if I see you with the banner any time soon at a game......pint is there.
Found those pro-Koscielny and Giroud posts yet? Thought not
King of the Turncoats
This is from the 3-1 at Fulham this season mate. Wrong again......
How brave after the league defeat against Villa. Taking it to the West Brom game ?
SteveO 35 wrote:So we drop TV5 and put in one of Koscielny, Djourou, Squillaci or Miquel ??
Fucking hell, has Red Member been hacking everyone's accounts.
Yep 100% drop TV5 and give Kos a run. Or while gibbs is out play TV5 as LB.
Dropping Santos is a separate issue - he could play Miquel there anyway, who is a much better option. I even think Francis Coquelin has showed more quality as a full back than Fatty Santos.
On what basis does Koscielny warrant a run of games - he's been absolutely fucking abject when he's played this season. At least TV5 is brave - we'll have the best non-tackling, non-heading CB partnership in the world if the BOG (Big Overrated German) and Ligue Deux pair up at the back
Kos has pulled TV out of quite a few holes and yes while he isn't playing as well as last season (Who is?), he was by far and a way our best CB last season and deserves a better run................
SteveO 35 wrote:There were only two choices for me - Koscielny and Szezcny - they have played nearly all the games and more often than not have performed very well. Some of the others there have done well in patches but haven't played well enough regularly to be considered.
Koscielny edges it though. Very happy to be proved wrong about old "Ligue Deux"
Now you go. Your turn - Yet again I'll ask you to show me how Im a Wengerite, turncoat.
Is it cause I have the audacity to disagree with you about a few players?

Nice try sunshine. Back to the post League Cup final defeat please. Want to see that 100% praise and support shining through. You can do it.....

No, nobody except you and the tens of other posters who've said the same thing on this board
So apparently we fucked him over by not giving him a long-term lucrative deal at a time when he was nothing more than a bit-part player at best? I mean it's not like the people suggesting that would ever moan about us doing that with Denilson, Bendtner, etc. And it was some sort of travesty that we started a world-class player at left-back instead of playing him out of position in the biggest game in our history?
While we're rewriting history would you mind pretending that Paul Bodin scored that penalty against Romania in 1993 and chalking off Wayne Bridge's goal at Highbury in 2004?
My point is that if you're going to slag Flamini off for running his contract down and leaving then remember that we were also trying to flog the bloke the year previous. Why should a player be loyal when the club doesn't show that loyalty back?
As for rewriting history, Flamini played every minute of every game in that run towards the final, and helped keep 10 consecutive clean sheets. He was superb in that left back position but was dropped for a half fit Ashley Cole who had a poor game that night, and played Eto'o on for Lehmann's red card. Not to mention Belleti's winning goal came from his side.
The club didn't show that 'loyalty' back then because what loyalty was there to be shown? The bloke was mostly fucking awful for the most part. Answer Northbank's question ! You're the sort of man to slag off 50k per week for Flapper, Djourou, Denilson, Bendtner etc......but you'd have happily backed a similar deal for Flamini after 2 years of doing fuck all???? Really? You are a visionary. How I'd love to get it right every time like you
Then the guy finally displaces an ageing Invincible like Gilberto and fucks off after 1 good season to the highest bidder. What happened to fighting for a place and then going on to be a club legend?
He wasn't "mostly awful". Mostly average is what he was. No need to exaggerate. He was a solid player who was nothing special until his last season.
I didn't mention anything about a new contract. Read my post again. I said the club was trying to ship Flamini off to Birmingham; I for one think he might have had an issue with that. Could well have sparked him into performing the way he did, and fuck the club off when they come back and beg him to sign on a year later. Entirely possible. He didn't deserve a contract in the summer of 2007, that's correct, but the issue was that the club actively to tried to ship him off to Birmingham and he could've bore a grudge against the club for that.
Still waiting to be pointed to the "all is forgiven" comment that I've supposedly made.

I'm not basing my views on the idea that he owed us loyalty - I'm just not too keen on welcoming back "Matty" like he's a hero or like he's one of us when - in my personal opinion - he sacrificed a position of massive potential in 2008 to go and sit on the bench for a UEFA Cup team in a massively inferior league because he'd earn more by doing so.
And it would have been absolutely insane to leave Ashley Cole out to play Flamini - it was the CL final FFS, we had to pick the best side we had and not the fairest (although I must admit my memory is a bit foggy about the bit where Cole's mistakes seem to have single-handedly cost us the trophy).

SteveO thats just embarrassing. Apart from the fact that I joined this forum in 2011, how could anyone praise Kos after that debacle. Have you taken leave of your senses. ? Oh yea. No. You havent. You're just grasping at straws and name-calling cause you've nowhere to go.

He left for a massive club, a club twice the size of ours, which also happens to be his dream club, one that his Italian dad supports. I'm sure the money was a factor as well, but I actually commend him for going to them when they're in the UEFA Cup which shows he didn't just join for the glory; he really had feelings for that club.
I'm telling you now I was upset when I saw Cole starting the final because Flamini didn't put one foot wrong in that run. We kept 10 clean sheets in a row in the CL - 10 - breaking a record whilst doing that, and Flamini was one of our stand out players. We played teams like Real Madrid and Juventus during that run, and Flamini helped keep clean sheets against them home and away. He was dropped in the final for a player who wasn't fully fit and had one foot outside the door. And lo and be hold, it cost us the trophy.
If it was all about picking your best side, why did Di Matteo start with Ryan Bertrand on the left wing against Bayern in the CL final two years ago? And guess what, that decision was vindicated - he won the thing.

Jesus Christ! who brought Ramsey into anything? Oh yea you. And Tony Adams...
You really will make up any old shit and resort to insults to try and win an argument.
What is this? who fucked up the most? - so what if Armchair has had a change of heart (at least it shows he's not closed minded) and so what if SteveO spent the summer insisting we wouldn't spend £20m on anyone EVER before blowing that theory out the water on Ozil.
There's no kudos here - just enjoy our form (since March) while it lasts. The transfer window is closed and the BBQ ain't happening, so sit back and chill out.

Didn't you know SteveO is a tad economical with the actualitee 1989?
Never let the truth stand in the way when you are trying to prove a point.
