Didn't get to see game live due to work...Hard fought win, nervy at times. Stated in different thread that Arsenal's biggest test would be how they reacted to defeat, yesterday that question was becoming a worrying reality.
Flamini was a loss and will be a bigger one next week against the champions elect . But there were positives , Gnarby gave the width that was missing against Dortmund, the keeper and defence were strong and Giroud again gave a honest hard working display for his team.
Red card was totally wrong and on principal should be appealed. Chamakh got first touch and pushed the ball to his right, and then pushed himself to his left catching his leg on the back of Arteta's right leg. 45 or so yards from goal and not even in a central position, by a player already booked for diving this season.
BBC are to make Match of the Day an hour longer to allow Alan "rolling eyes " Hansen more time to criticise Arsenal..I am not claiming we will be champions but if Liverpool won 2-0 at Palace Hansen would need a change of trousers. It would be the performance Champions are made from.
BT Sport are annoying in the extreme. Too many nobodys with nothing to say and too many opportunities to say it.

Thought the punditry from both Match of the Day and BT Sport was diabolical, can't comprehend how anyone can argue it was a deserved red, it wasn't even a foul and even if the referee deemed it was then a yellow card should have been given at most. That will definitely be the first and last time I watch any pre or post match analysis on BT Sport.

As for the match I thought we were poor but I did expect it after the Dortmund match. Palace were up for it and we obviously weren't at our best so it was important to get the win. I actually think the matches against Liverpool and United will be better for us as they won't just defend with 11 behind the ball and I think we'll find more space to play in, which will benefit the likes of Ozil and Cazorla who had no space to do anything in the final third yesterday. Was again impressed by Gnabry who still needs time to develop but at least he is always trying to make something happen.

Sending off was a disgrace, first pen decision a disgrace, but we were very poor and thankfully Chamakh was a disgrace, as I think had any other prem striker been in that palace side, then they would have at least taken a point.

Never a sending off. Brilliant camera angle showed Camel actually changed direction away from the ball and leaned into Arteta. Terrible fucking reffing. :x

A bit of a scrappy win but still a win. 8)
