As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It seems to me that David Dein, Danny Fiszman, Peter Hill Wood etc all made a fair bit of money out of their dealings
1983 - Bear shits in the woods
1996 - Bear shat in the woods

they all made loads
DD built a whole football career out of it - none of his other interests ever made him serious money
he was even paid a hefty wage by the club
Fiszman made loads diamond dealing and I guess HillWood inherited a big lump as well as his successful City career
Is that as they say your opinion and not representative of "The Herd" or are you saying that you believe collectively all those affiliated to herd and herd site are ante Usmanov ?
DD has not been involved with R & W since 07 I believe as stated in earlier message so why would he have met Herd on behalf of them in 2009 ?
My Brother delivered Waitrose groceries to Dein's gaff by Totteridge Long Pond when he was doing his A-Levels. Dein came out in a white dressing gown, and tipped him £20. A fine chap I think you'll all agree.

I think you missed the part of the story between the dressing gown and the tip.

Herd was seen leaving the house after having his "chat" about Usmanov.

Trust me he might have sold out his shares but he was still in the Usmanov camp and I can assure u the meeting did take place with a certain well known travel agent and Mr Dein !
The point was that all sides are looking for the fans to bolster their causes however it would have been wrong to start a plebiscite over someone whose intentions for the club none of us really know beyond that which the media reports .

noted and understood but that was then and this is now- don't look back look forward is the message .
No one knew Kroenke's intentions for the club when he was backed ( or in a period when Usmanov certainly wasn't) and look where that has got us so far under his ha ha leadership /ownership.
From Diamond Club to Herd and Box Level to yer local boozer everyone wants passion and success and the Emirates to find a location to build a trophy room .
The next step is surely to at least try and create an environment to allow Usmanov a seat on the board to perhaps unravel some of the financial mysteries of whether we have got money to spend or not.
No other sensible business would deny a near 30% shareholder the opportunity to give added value and input and even if many are still undecided on whether Usmanov should own the club .Just what has Kroenke and hIs cronies got to hide that they won't reveal ?
Is there an example if any football investor putting money in whilst others owned shares? I think the idea of somebody piling money in whilst others own shares is 100% fantasy... If its not then why not throw money in without buying shares at all.
