Protest Saturday

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Former Liverpool defender Lawrenson was not too impressed with the protests.

“I have to say it was a pretty pathetic demonstration as demonstrations go,”

That Red action and BSM really fucked it up, by accident or design?????
Thats a very good question.
Its the likes of BSM and RA who should be taking the lead and organising sustained direct action, with a clearly defined agenda.
But no, what do they do.......?
Jump on the back of our banner protests, hijack our TimeForChange slogan, dilute and devalue it with some vague, ambiguous lilly-livered, ill-though out card show.
They've left us wide open to criticism and mockery. Now they're on social media posting instagram selfies and basking in the glory of their "fans" telling them how wondetful they are.

Now its left to us to try to repair the damage, regain some momentum and get back our credibility and ownership of the protests.

The positive though is that the media are so fickle it is possible that after the City game the spotlight will be firmly back on Wengers future again and the shambles that was the BSM and RA effort will be yesterdays news

I can't say that is the case. I think that they tried to make this a dissatisfaction protest to get more people on board, but it didn't really come off. Neither would go as far as setting an official message which really did harm their cause because it looks like most in the Emirates who may want Wenger gone don't want to do it publicly (which is a real shame because I don't see how else they are going to get it done).

That being said, after the event itself, I'd regard the protest as a success. It's the first time at the Emirates that there has been open-revolt again Wenger and the stewards haven't confiscated anything, thus making it easier for the next time - and there will be a next time. I can't see Wenger performing next year unless he really does spend money this summer (but we know that he won't).

I always said we were a minority and that our fan pressure would never drive Wenger out, especially if the press aren't pushing his buttons - and they certainly ain't now.

But you know fuck it, it was a start. Well done to everyone that protested. 8)

One thing it did prove is just how many of our Conglomerates-attending "supporters" are JCL cúnts and fans of Arsene PLC rather than Arsenal FC. Fucking pricks.  :x
I'm a ST holder of some 30 years and travel to about 1 away game each month. My last game this season was Everton in mid March. So, almost 2 months since i last went to an Arsenal game. Ive also made no real effort to watch on Tele and I have to say I haven't missed it one bit, such is the boring football on offer and the even more so, pathetic "matchday experience" at the Bowl.
Those empty seats are people who feel the same as me, so although there weren't many holding banners, the real effect of Wenger can be found in those who stay away.

Ive been on twitter at BSM, RA and some other guy who was heavily promotong saturdays attempt.

I was asking why they'd taken my TimeForChange message and diluted it. Why they'd protested during the game (instead of waiting until all the cameras would be on the protesters only)
Why they were posting pics of banners and claiming them when they were planned weeks ahead and feck all to do with them.
Why they thought several hundred little cards would work in a 60,000 seater stadium.

The silence is fuckin deafening.

But as soon as someone says " well done lads, you guys are great" They're all over it, agreeing, liking and retweeting.

Fukin spineless c unts.

Seems these fangroups have went deafeningly quiet. Wonder if they've anything planned for the Villa game. :rubchin:

One of those who was heavily promoting it and absolutely banging on and on about this protest, calling people to "stand up and be counted" is now on twitter saying that our banner protests should stop, that Wenger "might" leave in 2017 and we should all (and I quote), " just support the team"

Have to say all this fan group stuff makes me laugh. It does have an element of the People's Front of Judea and the Judean People's Front about it all.

How to join REDAction:

BRIAN: Can I join your REDAction group ?

RA man: No, piss off!

BRIAN: But I hate the Usmanov as much as anybody.

RA woman: Are you sure?

BRIAN: Yeah dead sure. I hate the Usmanov already.

RA man: Listen … if you wanted to join RA you'd have to really hate Usmanov.

BRIAN: I do!

RA man: Oh yeah? How much?

BRIAN: A lot!

RA man: Right. You're in.

Absolutely. Ill-thought move from a bunch of people who are only interested in self-promotion.

Apparently wanting Wenger out or a regime change is a one-off thing that we can all forget about now.

Darth Ultra actually thinks Martinez is the kind of manager we need to have at Arsenal when wenger eventually decides to leave. (18 minutes in) soooo funny :coffeespit:
Also Barca were lucky to beat us in the CL and it was Arsenal started Barca's run of bad games...

After Sunday's game, I'd imagine the stewards have been told to crack down on any decent. Going to be difficult to get banners in.

I assume RedAction and BSM will disappear again and do fuck all.

I’m not a huge fan of the protests but I support their right to Protest !
You can bet your life that the club did indeed send stewards up to manchester to suppress the banners and of course the
shocking violent firm known as the GMP were only too happy to oblige.
You can be sure they had these pro wenger banners made too as they are really lame !
I go on a few social websites and have noticed new posters creeping on to them supporting the company line too whilst posing as fans !
It means that the club Are taking note of the protests and slowly its gaining momentum BUT !

Any movement that has that fcuking idiot DT as its spokesperson is doomed to fail ,he is an attention seeking beer monster with an IQ at room temperature !

Someone needs to have a word in his shell like b4 it ends in tears .

PS that isn’t a threat , I think he’s a knob but Im not overly bothered !
