VILLA HOME THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Finishing 10 points behind Leicester is nothing to shout about.
Total of 5 banners inside the ground today.
Decision was made (reluctantly) not to show them today. It was felt (by most of us) that with the turnaround and a lot of gooners elated and actually feeling like it was a trophy to finish above them, to let them enjoy the moment.
Personally I was a bit disappointed but felt it was the right thing to do. There were players out there with babies in their arms too and that contributed to the decision also.
Although fair play to forum member Redsenga who whipped out a Wenger Out sign when Wenger walked past. Ha ha.

I wonder as well as the euphoria of yet another St Totts day, how much of the fan reaction in the ground was purely relief that this season is finally over :rubchin:

Glory Glory in meltdown.

Oh fudge off. We've got our Tottenham back. What a sack of brick. Terrible fudgeing bottlers the fudgeing lot of them. Disgrace. fudge off.

fudge off you claming fudgeing useless ball bag tossers. fudge off on your holidays. Don't bring this brick attitude back next season please. KThanks.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino:"First of all I would like to apologise to our fans, I think they don’t deserve all that happened today on the pitch and I apologise. It was a shame and diffcult to understand

"In the last couple of weeks when you do not play with 100 per cent it is impossible to win games and after Chelsea something happened. We cannot manage games in the right way.

"I am very disappointed because our fans don’t deserve it, it is difficult to go tonight and see my boys and my wife. I think it is unbelievable and we are very disappointed.

"We had the possibility to stay second and how we lost and how we gave to the opponent that is relegated, in the first and second half, they score three goals with 10 players it is the worst day as a manager and I feel very disappointed. We need to be sure that never happens again and need to improve our mentality. We were on holiday and that is the reality."

Fair play, mate :barscarf:

Will you/others be displaying banners from the start of next season? TOF's waiting until the last day to re-new next May could work to our advantage; let him know that his lies, negligence and wilful underachievement are not welcome. There will be plenty of time to build the dissent to the point that he decides to leave. The standard shit results and performances can only help too.

Any photos of Redsenga showing TOF the sign?

Will this never end??????????????????????????
Only when wenger ends mate.
I am now officially giving up, don't even want to think about Wenger anymore, had enough will just watch the games now :D

I dont know if theres any pics floating around. It was a spur of the moment thing on his part. He felt he HAD to do something to let Wenger know his feelings and fair play to him.

As far as next season goes.......
Jesus this seasons only just over, give us a chance to recover.

For my part, I tired doing this. Its exhausting and frustrating. I get zero enjoyment from games where Im showing a banner.
While the banner thing has been good and served us well as regards publicity and highlighting Wengers inadequacies I reckon a new strategy is needed. The banner thing is predictable now. A fresh approach, something new, with banners popping up in random surprise attacks possibly.
Dunno mate if Im honest.

Well it's been a long, shit season but for the first time in ages I thoroughly enjoyed today. I know the reason for the moaning on here, I know today is going to be spun as a positive when it really shouldn't...but...
Fuck it...I hate the vermin *word censored* with a passion and any excuse to laugh at them is a bonus.

He's here next season whether we like it or not so I decided to enjoy today...and it was good to see all Gooners on the same side for a change.
I know it's a short term view...but come on, let's enjoy doing those pricks over...AGAIN.

And I never heard TO1AW at all.

Don't think today will make a difference either way. Those who have lost faith in Wenger won't get it back and those who still back him to whatever degree wouldn't have changed their minds based on one game.

Might as well have a laugh at the Scum.

My sentiments entirely. I'm not celebrating finishing second or Giroud - pah - scoring a hat trick. We could have won 10 nil today and the totts have a 0-0 draw and they would have finished above us, it was in their hands, and Wenger would have still been here. But they blew it big time. What's not to enjoy. Forever in our shadow.

Just thought I'd repost this incase anyone missed it.

Banner above the Armoury before todays game. It generally received a positive response, with only one guy (carrying a newly purchased gunnersaurus toy. Not kidding btw.) shouting a few verbals.
