Is he doing it so that he can smugly point to this next time we have an opponent who constantly commits cynical fouls?

So apparently now a foul when there is no chance of winning the ball is a red card.. (Goals on Sunday).. Let's see if it consistently applied.

Pete the Plank's proud record of conceding most goals from outside the area continues !

Im astonished we've already confirmed we won't appeal. 3 game ban for a trip is insane.... i wonder if wenger assumed a 1 match ban?
I understand the ill feeling of some on here about theo but im just greatful he's looking more focussed, playing well and scoring goals. He's always had it in him so i just hope it continues. Better that than a repeat of last season!
Anyway, results are what counts - we played well in patches vs swansea but could easily have dropped points. Joint top after all the praise aimed at citeh, guardiola, klopp, mourinho etc is more than i could have hoped after the liverpool fiasco so im delighted.

It was getting to risky and would of been embarrassing puking on everyone around me.
And trust me that was the longest train journey home ever, it was only to Newbury Park!
But when you feel like you are going to be sick every other minute it's best to keep getting off the trains.![]()

Oh well at least we won!

I thought Xhaka was a Gazidis signing and that Wenger had no real say in the matter. I'm aware that wenger runs all and everything at the club, but that this deal was done after wenger initally made enquiries about him, then when the price was named - wenger (not for the first time) backed off...But Gazidis pushed it through.Bradywasking wrote:Arsenal not appealing Xhaka's red card...Wenger says it was harsh but it was a deliberate foul..
Seriously if Ramsey had received s red for something similar Wenger would have the club's lawyers working 24/7 on the appeal..Maybe he really doesn't like Xhaka and see this as the opportunity to ease him out of the team and the fan's minds..
Could all be bollox I know...as we might never, ever know what really goes/went on.

By the rules of the game this is NOT a red card.....

Had a very quick look at the rule changes regarding red cards and cannot find any mention of that..It was said on Goals on Sunday and the Ox agreed with it...saying they were told about it so couldn't have any complaints.. I'm sure in the Sky Reds Derby tomorrow night such incidents will be about "passion and desire"Redarmy wrote:Bradywasking wrote:So apparently now a foul when there is no chance of winning the ball is a red card.. You'll see hundreds of that exact same tackle this season, and I doubt they'll result in a red card, consistency,as usual, will be scarce over this sort of thing,Bradywasking wrote:Had a very quick look at the rule changes regarding red cards and cannot find any mention of that..It was said on Goals on Sunday and the Ox agreed with it...saying they were told about it so couldn't have any complaints.. Feel the same, it will be like the second yellow that RvP got vs Barcelona, you will never see anything like it again.
And if this rule was added even verbally, then it is stupid, it just gives refs another way to completley change the outcome of a game with a single action, and something that can be used with inconsistency.
I want skill and effort to decide games as much as it can, not mistakes or margin calls by a ref, thier job is hard enough, and also some are known *word censored* that will abuse it. I think most supporters feel the same.
Re: Swansea City (H) | PL | Sat 15 Oct 15:00
Maybe the Referee interpreted it as a tackle from behind which could be a straight red....rules are ambiguous...but all you can say extremely harsh and unlikely to see its like again this seasonRedarmy wrote:Bradywasking wrote:So apparently now a foul when there is no chance of winning the ball is a red card.. Can you imagine that happening at Liverpool tomorrow....Coutinho sent off for a trip on Pogba...
