The above is todays press conference
What's the point of these press conferences? the way he answers questions makes a mockery of the whole thing. He just lies and jokes his way through them, offering nothing of value.

There's just no way on earth he believes half the things he says. He's a bullshitter, which is fine when you're winning and on top of your game, but when you're not, you come across as a deluded, arrogant prat

Arsene Wenger has backed the club’s decision to block billionaire shareholder Alisher Usmanov’s attempts to win a place on the Arsenal board.

Usmanov has seen his plot to secure a place on Arsenal’s top table blocked by majority shareholder Stan Kroenke, so despite owning 29 per cent of the club, the Russian has no say in how Arsenal are run.

Wilshere and ramsey to get new contracts. Wilshere is obviously very important but Ramsey signed a new contract in 2010 so this will be an improved contract......at least no-one can argue he deserves it wih some dazzling displays on the pitch over the last couple of years! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Wenger - This is a very serious team

Arsène Wenger insists his current squad is among the most serious and focused of his 16-year reign at Arsenal.

The Gunners have been heavily criticised after they were knocked out of the Capital One Cup by League Two Bradford on Tuesday night.

Wenger says his players are “hurt” by their setback at the Coral Windows Stadium, but believes they have the quality to bounce back.

“I’ve had groups who had fantastic results [but] were less serious than these players, believe me,” the manager said. “Players who were less focused than this team. Of course these players are hurting.

“You think they don’t care and they go home and think they had a fantastic game? They do care.

“We prepare for games seriously. It was a cup game on an English December night in Bradford. You have to give Bradford credit.

“Unfortunately we paid the price - they knocked Wigan out as well. That shows they have something and that they are difficult to beat.

“We put ourselves in a more difficult situation when we were 1-0 down. We got off the hook with 1-1 and we should have made the difference with 30 minutes [of extra time] to play

The man is a complete fucking idiot. Just take a look at yourself and see how much of a joke you have become. I love the bit about how it was a cup tie in December and they knocked mighty Wigan out too. Wow! That makes it ok for your team to be total shit. From what he's saying then, can we assume that the old git thinks that this is a more focused team than the one from 2003-4 or 2001-2? Yeah, focused alright, focused on their wages, signing on fees and transfers to Man City. Stupid *word censored*.

Of course he wouldn't want Usmanov. He would be working under pressure from above and his job would be on the line, the *word censored*.

"Serious" seems to be his newly adopted word for this team and this season. I should fucking well hope they are "serious" as the opposite of that would be 'carefree' or 'blasé'.

Just "meaningless sentence fillers" as my old bastard of an English master would have said back in the day. Nothing he says carries any substance whatsoever and he'd do better to say nothing sometimes.

"Serious"??? FFS - I expect that Barnet, AFC Wimbledon and Aldershot are "serious" about what they do but that doesn't stop them being absolute fucking shit, and I'm sure the QPR players aren't pissing their pants with laughter every time they go another week without winning

Serious is not even the bare minimum you fucking loser. Its about producing a winning team.

Anyway I've got to go and seriously prepare some lunch

That's in league with his quote of "this is the best squad I have ever had" a couple of years ago. Insulting to the great teams HE built who won trophies. I think the media are pressing him harder and harder and he obviously feels the need to defend the current team but saying things like this just make him sound more deluded. That interview as a whole was just him ducking and dodging questions. How could he keep a straight face when he said Gervinho was in good form?

Why is he so desperate to piss every single fucker in the media off. He turns up for these press conferences and makes sarcastic remarks and wisecracks, doesn't give a straight answer to questions and trots out the same bollocks buzz-phrases. And he somehow seems surprised that these same people are writing negative stuff about him?

Without going into depth as to the ridiculousness of every single thing he says in that press conference, it's like drawing blood from a stone trying to get him to answer a difficult question. The bit where he starts asking the reporters to name who they think have been poor buys and then rubbishes their answers is embarrassing. It's reminiscent of Mike Bassett (except for being highly dislikeable) the way he conducts himself nowadays. "Do you think we can win Thommo??"

What should be really interesting is watching to see what kind of coverage he gets on the Sunday Supplement tomorrow morning on sky 8) I think that they will give him serious stick especially after the bullshit senile deluded comments he has made since the Bradford debacle - if we had of had the reading game today and won it then doubtless they would have maybe questioned him slightly less but the fact that the Bradford game and the comments since are fresh in the mind should ensure proper questioning of his performance and questioning his future

Doesn't Wenger's number 2 superfan Patrick Barclay appear on Sunday Supplement? If so then there'll be a voice for the pro-Wenger camp using the tired old argument that he deserves more time owing to what he achieved for the club historically. Fucking hell, how many years do we have to be grateful for what he once did for us? 10, 15, 20? Seriously when does the credit in the bank run dry in some people's eyes.

Exactly - the odious fuckwit is nowhere to be seen whenever we're doing shite. Watch out for the first week we're in the Virtual Trophy places though and he'll be crawling back out from under his stone
