The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

You'd think he'd be used to bending over for city at this stage mind and if we were to sell we'd end up in profit for the window which would make all our undies nice and sticky

You bet Bellerin is looking at City. The chance to go to a team that actually wants to win trophies under a successful manager in Guardiola.
Looks like we're still a feeder club to the big boys

As Seaman is saying ...sign someone...anyone

This is the worst start to any season in terms of preparation that i can remember and I'm going back a few years here .........
Disagree, beginning of last season was worse. No outfield players signed just Cech.

yeah same old shit , but had more striker options at start of last year....not sure who we will have upfront against Liverpool
Did we? We haven't signed any strikers...we've added Iwobi to the squad since. We didn't have Sanchez or Welbeck at the start of last season either.

All this shit from Gazidis about money and developing players is the same shit we've heard for the last 12 years. It's pathetic, it really is. After years of spinning lies about financial fair play, we've got a new justification for their ineptitude; Leicester fucking City. Don't worry about Man Utd, of City, or the Chavs, try to copy Leicester's strategy because it worked last year. All this fucking money, buying shit players, selling anyone half-decent, putting up with lies for what? Fuck all. I still can not for the life of me understand why these people are paid a fortune. Surely they should be able to predict when changes to football transfer strategy will occur or new deals will influence things and prepare for them? With all this fucking money we have, we should be blowing other teams out of the water. If they have money, then we should be way ahead because we've been told we have enough money to buy anyone on world football for years now. Dare I say it, but it's another example of complete and utter mismanagement from the manager and club.

So Ivan is already defending our lack of transfer activity. What a fucking clown. :banghead:
Gazidis; “We’re doing it by being very, very disciplined; spending money where we believe it makes a difference, but also giving young players a chance and believing in ourselves and our values.”

Right. Just like the defenders of the Alamo "believed in themselves and their values" right up until they had their asses handed to them by the Mexicans.

And if that huge list on the Pet Project thread tells us anything it tells us that giving young players a chance should only ever be a minor or secondary approach to recruiting first team players as it does not fucking work 99% of the time. :|
Yep, that's right! I'm not saying we should go out and spend Just because of the great Joy of shopping (like I do in Football Manager) but we should address the key areas where we are still short - DM, CB and striker. Meh, I'm so fucking tired of this same shit. What's the point to say these same things what most people in here have said already years ago. :banghead:

The one good thing about the lack of ambition and transfer activity at Arsenal, is that it means I couldn't give a fuck either and can sell my ticket on the TX every week to the tourists, pay a minimal amount renewing the season after, when hopefully the French bloke will be gone.

Gazidis is on top of this. In his letter to ST holders at renewal time told us that "the aim of Arsenal is always to compete and win trophies".
Unfortunately, for us he was including the pre-season MLS All Stars Cup in that. :cussing:

We're getting exactly what we deserve - the window-lickers at the bowl and the limp-dick supporters groups allow this to happen :banghead:

Pay your 1.5k a year, turn up 10mins late every game with your iPad at hand, sit down and shut the fuck up :barscarf:

Giroud played and Sanchez was on the bench....looks like Wally will be leading the line on the curtain raiser.....Wellbeck looks a long time out

In my opinon of Wellbeck , Giroud , Walcott and Iwobi none of them look good enough, you can add Chamberlain to that lot as well

They will win Nothing next season.....top 4 very much in the balance....

TBH I'm not madly concerned if Feo does start as striker against the Mousers. It's the type of game he can score in. I'm more concerned that if Feo bags a couple, Wenger will then think "Hey we now have another striker, the January transfer window can fuck right off!" and we try to go the entire season with Giroud, Walcott and a half fit Welbeck. :|

Isn't it funny how on one hand, Gaizidis says that every footballing matter should be left in Wenger's hands, yet on the other, decides he can determined the squad is good enough to win the league. You cant be claiming ignorance on footballing matters, yet then giving your footballing opinions, you prick.

How appropriate that we've signed a player called Holding as Rodders and I have been Holding on to our middle stumps ever since this transfer was first rumoured

It says on Sky he was Bolton's player of the year.......lol, in a defence that leaked 3 a week and finished bottom of the Championship

ONE ARSENE WENGER......THERE'S ONLY ONE ARSENE WENGER
