THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It gets more and more embarrassing every week for Wenger. He freely admits we have had a weakness all season and yet has done nothing about it either in personnel or playing style. This is what he is paid 8 million a season for. And nothing will change. Thats the most depressing thing. It is hard to see when this ends.

Fair play to him for backing the team home & away.

Fair play to him for single-handedly keeping The Armoury in business.

But I cannot listen to that man speak. :suicide:

Fuck having our famously bad Novembers, we as a team are totally fucking allergic to spring. The gutless bastards should be told that a season lasts nine months, not six or seven months, FFS :banghead:

Whatever your view on Piers Morgan, he has been increasingly bang on regarding the situation at Arsenal.

Forget this talk of a 3 year contract extension, Wenger needs to be forced out at the end of this season. He cannot be allowed to spin things any longer.

Am I right in thinking that a few years ago on here, somebody posted gazidas's email address for fans to e-mail him ? If so could one of you put it up here again cos I certainly am interested in sharing my opinions with him 8)
Failing that, could the Arsenal FC subsidiary (otherwise known as redaction  ) please put up an email address in which a long suffering Gooner could contact him on ?

Much appreciated

I hate the how he thinks he is some type of football oracle with amazing insight into the game. When the reality is, he is outfoxed and out thought so often. Although, Wenger is so ignorant to his own limitations, that he doesn't realise other managers view him as easy.

One of the coaches on Chelsea's bench, said after 5 minutes in the game we lost 6-0, that Jose said 'we got them', after Jose saw how high our line was - only 5 minutes into the match. Whilst Wenger on the other side of the dugout, was completely oblivious to the serious danger ahead.

I just dont understand where Wenger's confidence comes from. If I were Wenger, I would be second guessing myself at every turn given a record of 10 years of repetitive let downs.

The manager version of Bendnter - confidence without justification.

I think Saturday again highlighted this - the teams go in at half time level but bilic still makes a substitution and a tactical reshape, whilst le cock YET AGAIN sits on his arse and changes nothing  In most of the world the saying is that "if it aint broke then don't fix it".......in wengerworld the saying is that "if it is broke then I haven't a Scooby doo on how to fix it unless the compulsory 70th minute substitutions miraculously work   :banghead: :censored:

Carrol was the problem so instead of addressing that at half time, he leaves everything exactly as it is, waits for us to fall behind, then loads the field with attackers??? And I use the word "attackers" in the loosest possible terms. Then after we equalise he talks of "mental strength." It is just insane and it goes on & on & on.....

We can call it from our couches or the stands imagine how easy it is for opposing managers?

I always thought Klopp would be ours. Wenger could have gone upstairs and let Klopp take over and add new ideas but no. Just watch what he does with Liverpool over the next few seasons.
It's ok wanting Wenger to leave but you have to get the right guy in or you become like United. They will spend and spend but unless they get the right guy they win nothing.
So we go through another Wenger rebuild and we all know the outcome of that.

I am sick of hearing how we could become like United - look we are already like United, we have been for the past 12 years!! Just because we are a couple of places above them and therefore in the mythical "top 4"it seems to make Wenger exempt from criticism.

United have a proud record over those last 12 years - they won the Premier League FIVE times!
We meanwhile have won the league only 5 times in the past FORTY FIVE years!

if we offer a new manager £8 million per year like we do with Wenger then we could get just about any manager in world football to come and manage us. in fact I would offer Simeone £12 million this summer and I think with our squad he would win the title at his first attempt.

NO,believe me the last thing on earth you want is Wenger moving upstairs. What is this "moving upstairs" crap anyway, what exactly is he going to do "upstairs"?? No decent manager is going to want that old failure hovering over him anyway.

He needs to go, leave and be gone.
