THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Wenger:
February 2012 "The first trophy is to finish in the top four"

Ranieri:
April 2016 (on securing a top 4 finish for Leicester City) "we havent achieved anything yet"

those two comments sum up everything :(

To quote Spinal Tap;

Well that puts things into perspective. Too much fucking perspective! :x

Ozil, like RVP and Fabregas and Nasri, has ambition and a voice therefore he is a threat to the dictatorship and must be moved on. Why do you think he signs the likes of Sanchez and Gabrielle - they can't speak English and co can't speak out, the same reason Wenger won't go anywhere near Ibrahimović, a real winner who say it as it is. Wally and the rest who owe their careers to the great leader and are his loyal foot soldiers on 140k a week having achieved zero.

Ozil is better off elsewhere, look all those who woke up and smelt the coffee - all have won the respective legaue for their new club.

the doubt I'm doing the wrong thing in possibly not renewing next year is rapidly fading, the problem I have is I want the lot gone from owner to manager. Which I don't see happening before June 2016 :|

I've been close every year since we moved from Highbury in all honesty but for some reason I kept thinking it will change, not a chance, too many issues now stack up in my decision becoming clearer, not all wenger related but his attitude is definitely hammering home that final nail.

Can't complain though, have got some proper good memories from a 6 yr old kid to leaving Highbury ... Since leaving Highbury .... well I feel I've been mugged right off if I'm honest...

Can anyone dig out the old wenger quote from a few years ago where he said that if he didn't win a league within two years he would have failed ? That wouldn't be the worst thing to be put on a banner would it ?

Henry Winter at AST meeting telling it how it is apparantely. Absolutely slating Wenger.

Revealing what some of us already knew/suspected including........

There has been at least £30mill available for transfers EVERY SEASONsince the stadium move, but Wenger doesnt spend.
Debunks a few Kroenke haters too.

Winter says spurs above afc should be an affront to the board and Leicester above afc is Wengers fault.

HW speaks of Wenger's charm, 'he is a great man, one of the most interesting people I've ever met but no longer a great manager.'

Winter says Wenger has too much power without checks & balances on him. Says Dein would never have allowed him to make the Suarez £1 deal.

Winter asked if he sees light at end of tunnel for Arsenal and he replies "no ... not until the manager is replaced"
