WALCOTT - which position is best etc?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Like a new striker! :barscarf:

Forgive me for being cynical but I guess this means Lazcette (or any other) isn't coming!
Sell theo. If after 10yrs he and wenger are at odds about where he should play then all hope is lost!

We have our new striker to get us title and Champions league glory :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

some bloke called Theo

Now the player has himself realised he’s better off playing in the wide areas but Wenger is still keen on giving him a shot at the central striker role. “ I believe [Walcott] has all the ingredients to become a great striker.”

This is getting laughable if that was even possible anymore. Wenger words...
I believe he has all the ingredients to become a great striker,” said Wenger. “He has the quality of the runs, he is a very intelligent player and he’s a good finisher.
Scoring goals and playing there will give confidence and slowly convince him, maybe, he can be absolutely fantastic there.

If AW is so sure of that then why has he not given him a consistent run in the position ahead of OllyG, more smoke and mirrors bullshit from the Master of Spin.....

Wenker had to share his wise words right after Theo's comments... making full mockery of him in public.

The best bit is Outrageous Fee-oh asked, begged to be played as a central striker for about 5 years, and Wenger refused. Now, after Wenger gave him a few games in the centre and he failed to deliver, Outrageous Fee-oh wants to skulk back out onto the wing and Lord He Who Cannot Be Contradicted now wants to persist with the useless fucker as a - you guessed it - central striker! You could not make this shit up.

Let's be honest if this was any other player and manager at any other club we'd be psising ourselves with laughter and wondering how they could get away with the bull... at our club it's just another day in 'WengerWorld' :banghead:

Frankly, for me anyway, i find it utterly embarrassing that our once great club is becoming the laughing stock of English Football in just about every area except the all important one, 'money in the bank'

He is already preparing his "Everyone will be afraid of us now" statement, on the rare occasion we turn up in a big game.

Without even looking I'm guessing that video will be about 2 minutes long and include all of his goals. And shots. And passes. And a couple of interviews. And some training footage.

Not far out

Theo has made the most appearances in the squad ( he has been here 10 years after all !)
Theo has the most goals in the squad ( he has been here 10 years after all)
Theo was the 2nd youngest to reach 100 appearances :barscarf:
Theo scored in a cup final :barscarf:
Theo claps politely when he gets subbed.

We fans go on about loyalty in the modern game. Theo has taken a lot of stick, rightly so, but he has remained loyal to the club. He gets well paid, but he could get well paid elsewhere. He should get some credit for sticking where others like RVP, Cesc, Flamini, etc...jumped ship when they could.
He's a good squad member and I hope he picks up this season after being dropped by both club and country.
