Yeah great teams have 6-goal thrillers with Marco Van Carroll's West Ham and lose 8-2

Since 2013, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored more CL goals than Arsenal FC

This CL season alone, by the QF stage, Ronaldo has managed more CL goals than Theo Walcott has managed in TEN years of CL football

This CL season alone, at the mere QF stage, Ronaldo has scored more CL goals than any current Arsenal striker has ever managed in a whole domestic league season.

This CL season alone, Ronaldo has scored more CL goals than Giroud has managed in his entire European career.

Theo Walcott is currently costing Arsenal £726k per goal. :coffeespit:

Barca have obviously gone off the boil for a number of weeks now. Cue our great oracle to come croaking on about how much he admonished us about the decline they're in.

Of course, in all this, he remains completely blind to the fact that everyone around us seems to be in decline. Despite this, we remain firmly stuck in the same gear for however long, rendering us incapable of capitalizing on the favorable circumstances which we've been presented with.

Just go wenker, you rank fraud.

Arsene is a visionary and I think you're all being too hard on him. He deserves more credit:

1. He told everyone Barca weren't the same and very beatable. Tonight proved that Arsene was right. After the scare we gave them in the Camp Nou, their form completely went down the toilet. And that's down to Arsene. Paved the way for Simeone's success who should really be sending him a card

2. He's also said for many years that "the answer is not always to buy buy". Money isn't the be-all and Leicester this season has proved Arsene right all along. He gave Ranieri the blueprint and inspiration

Show him more respect as he deserves to leave with his head held high and has earned the right to decide when he leaves.

So another manager wins against a bigger team with more money. And as its been said, some amazingly feel this vindicates Wenger and justifies his methods, as opposed to asking themselves, if money isnt an issue for Ranieri or Simeone, why has it been an issue for Wenger?

Seem are even calling Wenger a genius for predicting Barcelona's weakness. So whilst Simeone actually did exploit Barcelona's weakness, Wenger simply commented on it after the game after Barcelona beat us 5-1 on aggregate????? Atletico Madrid are through to the semi finals, whilst we are out of all competitions.

Whose the genius again?

Obviously, Barcelona reached their pinnacle of the season by knocking out The Mighty Arsenal from the Champions League.
We did try the same tactics in the first leg which lasted 70 minutes. Then our lack of quality shone through.

Said it at the time - this Barca team isn't a patch on Guardiola's. Three amazing strikers but Iniesta is a shadow of his former self, as is Busquets whenever I've seen him and Rakitic isn't fit to lace Xavi's boots.

There is none of their tremendous pressing high up the pitch any more, and they are easier to shut out - they didn't look like scoring in the first leg until Torres got himself sent off and even we looked pretty comfortable for most of the home game.

Still an incredible performance over both legs by Atletico though.

Sorry about that chaps.

I couldn't get that image out of my head and made the mistake of sharing it. I really don't want to but whenever I see Wenker now I'm gonna visualise him butt naked and whispering -

"Ooh mon Cher - regardez mon petit hanbrake"

I need help . . . . . .

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/ ... nal-change

All neatly summarised by those chaps at Sky:

1. Mentality - only Liverpool and Crystal Palace have lost more points from winning positions this year.
Yep, and one of those changed their manager after a terrible start and the other have just won their first PL game of 2016 and just about staved off getting dragged into a relegation battle

2. Finishing - Arsenal have fashioned 77 clear-cut chances this season - 15 more than any other side - but they have also missed 61 - 11 more than any of their rivals. Only Southampton, Sunderland, Aston Villa and Swansea have inferior clear-cut chance conversion rates than Arsenal (35.79 per cent)
So Wally, Welwide, and the Lamppost aren't the real deal? No shit Sherlock - only half the world knew we needed to sign a top class striker but of course none of them turned up at Islington Town Hall with the permission of their club, agent and mums and dads saying "I'm officially for sale"

3. Transfers - need we say anything ?

4. Defence - Saturday's draw with West Ham was the eighth time this season Arsenal have conceded three or more goals in a single game. The stats show they have made 28 individual errors leading to opposition shots. No Premier League team have made more

Still what the fuck would anyone at Sky, or one of us mere mortals know eh ?

Steve O - isn't the most frustrating thing that NO pundit or journalist ever links these shit awful statistics to the turnip in charge?

He gets all the credit when things go well but none of the blame when it all goes wrong - how does that happen??

Because apparently mate "he's earned the right to decide when he leaves". In the world of the pundit, a period of success that ended more than a decade ago means you can spend the rest of your working life fucking everything up but have a free pass to do so

Imagine using that approach in your own job? But boss, don't you remember that great year I had in 2004

If you want to see how much of a failure, Wenger is in Europe, then this stat proves it. Regardless of what happens in the Semi-final, Simeone will at the very least have equaled Wenger's CL record of reaching two semi-finals and 1 final. He has also won the Europa league, this in 4 years at At Athletico, but some would still prefer to have Mr. 30 years in charge :banghead:
