I'm reluctant to trust a journalist who can't tell the difference between ' to pressurise' and 'to pressure', if I'm honest.nut flush gooner wrote:http://metro.co.uk/2016/07/23/leicester ... l-6023907/

Oh please please... if there was God somewhere out there, please let this be true. We might finally see wally fuck off... but of course that won't happen. If we signed Mahrez by some miracle wally will probably be one of our striker options.nut flush gooner wrote:http://metro.co.uk/2016/07/23/leicester ... l-6023907/

But... Mahrez isn't coming!

This is plausible alternative for him as he will leave Napoli almost certainly. Shame we aren't interested... or actually we might be interested so far that wenker can claim he nearly signed him.mcdowell42 wrote:Hiquain having a medical @Juventus according to sky Italy.

am i alone in not wanting mahrez?
one good season, and not the player we need. we need a top striker and a cb not a attacking midfielder as good as he may be

I agree.
When he's good, he's very good and I'd love to have him in the squad and he'd be a massive upgrade on Wally, but our need for a CB and top striker are far greater.
Draxler and Ginter or Manolas would do nicely and are surely 'gettable'.
Re: Is it time for a Summer Transfer Window Thread Yet?
Could be a new low...getting rejected by 2 Leicester players in one transfer window

No you are not - I'm not rubbishing the guy cos clearly he is a good player (and a trillion times better than wally) but he does not fill a position of urgent need

Btw some of you claimed that vardy wouldn't have worked out for us cos we don't play the quick football and ball over the top game to suit his talents, so I would like to ask them whether mahrez will work out for us. He wont have a pacy vardy running onto his through balls and that will automatically hit his assist numbers. In many ways his signing will create another ozil scenario in that we will have another class creator but will be dependent on average players like giroud, wellbeck and wally to maximise their creativity

Would definitely take him on condition the top class striker we need so badly is also signed...otherwise he would be another Arsenal player that will end up disillusioned by project Wenger....As you say our needs elsewhere are greater..the playing mantis wrote:am i alone in not wanting mahrez?

Guys i'd totally agree if it weren't for Wenger, but and it is a big but, AW doesn't think we need a striker and in his mind he's already sorted the CB cover problem by buying Holden so for either position it's over unless someone comes knocking on his door offering to play for nothing and their club is giving them away.augie wrote:the playing mantis wrote:am i alone in not wanting mahrez?

No you are not - I'm not rubbishing the guy cos clearly he is a good player (and a trillion times better than wally) but he does not fill a position of urgent needWe desperately need a top quality striker. We desperately need a top quality centre back. Mahrez fills neither position, but will eat up a chunk of our wage budget and transfer budget and all to appease those fans who just want to see any top quality signings

So in that case i'd rather strengthen in a position of much less need than not at all, not that it makes any difference for this season but if it all goes tits up for Wenger it may mean the incoming manager has more to play with.

Shows how stoopid wenker is if he had Mahrez in mind as well - WTF not bid for both simultaneously - The 2 players have a rapport on the field - so why not bid for both - They might have turned us down - But hey ! wtfeck - They might also have had a chat and thought 'let's both go to Arsenal'.silus wrote:Could be a new low...getting rejected by 2 Leicester players in one transfer window
We need pace up front - and by pace I mean we need smeone with pace who can run with the ball or take the ball on their first touch - AND not run into blind alley's like wallywonker.

Re: Is it time for a Summer Transfer Window Thread Yet?
Every / any player is 'gettable' - Just depends on if a club (in our case the manager who oversees everything like the despotcunt backsliding he is) is willing to stump up the wonga - and wenger as we all know is not, nor sadly ever will be.GranadaJoe wrote:the playing mantis wrote:am i alone in not wanting mahrez?

We have needed a world clas CB & strikers for ages - But he keeps on with the pussyBFG and the earcupping lampost.
