Four wins in twelve league games since 13th January has accounted for our trademark collapse
Yet more embarrassing and gutless capitulation in the cups too, being knocked out by Sheffield Wednesday, Watford and our usual reaming against Barcelona. Now TOF is back to his usual 'We don't need to sign anyone' shtick. Feels like those FA Cup wins never happened, doesn't it? Just like the glory days of 2008-13 again

In total this will be Wenger’s 13th season finishing empty handed ((unless there is a Leicester and Spurs collapse )
Clearly this man deserves to leave when he decides to
13 years takes us back to 2003
since then we have won
Premiership 2004
FA Cup 2005
FA Cup 2014
FA Cup 2015
I don't want to be accused of defending AW as I also want a change at the top but the statement quoted above isn't really accurate is it? I don't think you can call winning 4 trophies in that period finishing 'empty handed'.
that in itself may not be enough trophies won in 13 years, Nobody would doubt that.
Those trophies don't include 3 charity shields (although this doesn't really mean much at all given that it is essentially only a friendly. (Incidentally we've won 17 other friendly tournaments in that time include the prestigious Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust Challenge Cup!)
I'm all for reasonable criticism but lets not re-write history to suit an argument.
Not 13 successive years mate. 13 in total.
In Wenger's 20 years at the club, he has won trophies in 7 of them ... and won nothing in 13 of them.
The point of my post really was to show that Wenger hasnt taken us anywhere we hadnt already been many times over. What he has won us, we already had plenty of. And in some cases like Europe he hasnt even matched what was done before.
Im not trying to belittle what he has done. But for all the worship of him, he is not out equivalent of Shankly building something at Liverpool, or Revie at Leeds, Clough at Forest etc.
Lol. How come I understood you meant 13 years total.............
Not only that but of all the trophys won with Wenger as manager, how many have been with a squad comprised of only his own players.........?
Two. Yes only two.
FA Cup 2014 and 2015
Every other trophy won under Wenger hes had players inhereted from George or Rioch.
Be very careful lest you be accused of not giving any credit to wenger for those early successes, and especially if you are judged to have history for this type of behaviour
For me, next season is a write off. We will be thereabouts for the top 4, but not challenge. He will spend, but still leave us a few players short. He won't strengthen in the obvious place - where it used to be goalkeeper, now substitute that word with striker, which is the most obvious place for us to strengthen. More false dawns and awful losses.
I think that next year could have more people voting with their feet and the fan discontent will be worse at away games and maybe a little more at the Emirates than what exists now (an occasional sign). The same discussion will occur on this forum which is almost like a form of therapy - haha.
Wenger won't leave for PSG if they sack Blanc. He will only leave kicking and screaming from Arsenal and may even go upstairs. We do need a football man on the board, but not him. His parsimonious ways will be even worse overseeing the financial side potentially handcuffing a new man. Although having said that, I would still argue that there are loads of managers who would get 100% more out of the current crop than Wenger does.
The whole thing really is beyond boring now. My interest in Arsenal is dwindling and I used to be a season ticket holder. (Although, having written this whole post is probably slightly hypocritical )
I've said it before, but the passive nature of our fan-base is the problem. We have had one of the worse seasons in our history, Not only could we not win the title over Leicester, but we are going to finish behind Spurs as well. This, in a season that we broke records as the only side not to sign an outfield player in the summer transfer window. Despite all this, most of our fan-base are still undecided on Wenger, and many are opposed to any form of protest against him. It wouldn't surprise me if we hear 'one Arsene Wenger' being sang tomorrow. Wenger knows that he is under little or no pressure from the fans. If he felt any pressure, would he have come out with any of the insulting comments he has made this season. At any other club, he would have been hounded out, but at Arsenal, we have the most accepting fan base in the world, no matter how shit things get.

I'm not sure we will be there or thereabouts when you look at the other clubs. City will be stronger, Liverpool should be stronger under Klopp when he sorts his players out, United will surely do better and Chelsea cannot be as bad next season. Add to that Tottenham who will build on this season and get CL money and may attract better players, likewise Leicester. If we do our usual and remain static we will go backwards.
@johncrossmirror @Blackburngeorge Point of view matters. I think AW has been OVERACHIEVING for the last few years with the players he has.

No matter what kind of ACHIEVING we are talking about he assembled and schooled that poor lot himself

Well said! I think it is the fear of the unknown that holds a lot of people back.
For me, it hasn't been working for a long time so what have we got to lose by changing the manager?
We need more people in the stadium to take action though.
By the way, I haven't heard "one Arsene Wenger" for a very long time!

Fear of the unknown? More like fear of any sort of self-respect

Please PM me if at any point the magic words "he's earned the right to decide when he leaves" get a mention !
I am completely resigned to another season of mediocre, occasionally (1 game in 10) good football in spite of Wenger next season.
We'll be out the League Cup early, struggle through the CL group stage before another last 16 reaming, start a decent FA Cup run and dwindle in the later rounds and be there or there abouts in the league up until Christmas and then drop away due to every excuse in the book just after Christmas......
I'm getting pre-season deja vu, can't remember the last season i felt confident going into the season (and it's only fcuking April)
Oh i nearly forgot the late surge to try to keep CL football late in the season which actually may be a little bit more exciting next year as i fully expect other teams to be much closer in the mix than normal
Alex Iwobi and January signing Mohamed Elneny have impressed in that time, though, and Wenger has revealed he expects his side to continue to develop.
The manager believes strengthening his present squad will prove difficult and - despite being criticised for signing only Petr Cech last summer, and amid reports he intends to overhaul his team - he plans to retain Arsenal's present core of players.
It's almost irrational to hate people you don't actually know and have never met but I am beginning to fucking hate this guy.WHY the f*** would it "prove difficult" to strengthen his present squad?? I'll tell you why... because he's assembled a group of adopted sons who he is scandalously overpaying. These guys keep him in a job, not because of their footballing skills but because of their loyalty. This fucking twat now owns Arsenal. The club belongs to him, he'll do with it as he pleases and he'll leave when he pleases.
I almost feel if I was close enough to him at one of his BS press conferences I would try hit him

It's amazing that he says that it is boredom that is creating this dissatisfaction with wenger - doesn't he realise that journo's that are far better and far more respected than him (henry winter for example), have also said that it is time for wenger to go ?
Useless b.astard journalist who hasn't the first clue about football
