THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

In other words. The other teams have improved, whilst we have stood still, thus making it harder to win.

He is outdoing Brendan Rodgers in terms of David Brent like quotes.

Now Mr Arsenal has spoken.
Yeah and if he had spent some money and got a striker who can convert the chances we would be at least 10 points clear at the top, instead of letting Leicester and even worse scum in with a real chance of a title

Will not win Premiership under Wenger again (not sure what happened to his statement that he will win it in 2 seasons)

Mr Arsenal ...FUCK OFF what links has he had with our great club prior to Dein getting him in? yes he's there getting £8 MILLION a year

Firstly, if he built the club in 1996 when he arrived, what is the story with the 140 years ?? :?

Secondly, when you finish 3rd behind the scum and Leicester, then that should be a cause of shame and embarrassment

Yes would be a great display if it is empty, but Wenger is counting on the fickle nature of the fans, if we are winning 3-0 will they walk out???
we will see .....lets hope they realise the bigger picture

He will spin anything. If he were the captain of the Titanic, he would spend his last moments asking everyone 'whats wrong'?

Sure Arsene, let's look over the course of Arsenals history rather than examining the season under a microscope.

'When you take a step back and look at Arsenal as a club over the course of history, you will see that Arsenal is England's 3rd most successful football team, so being in 3rd means that is our natural place. Man United and Liverpool have both underachieved this year, so it isn't a disaster...

If you look at Arsenals season in 1912, you will find that we finished 20th out of 20th. I have never finished lower that 4th. Aren't I some sort of modern day messiah, I will leave that for you to decide'

Great article and what happens when you don't get Amy Lawrence writing sycophantic love letters

I present you with this rebuttal from the comments section of that article:

Arsenal, and Arsene Wenger, ? Simply THE BEST.
And he has the Medals / Cups to prove it. League AND Cup winners TWICE. In the same season.
Built Arsenal THE Best ground in the U.K.
NEVER out of the top 4 in 18 years. ?
90% of the "teams" in the U.K. have never been in the top 4. EVER ?
But best of all, Arsenal play the most attractive football in the P.L. Week in Week.
And He alone, still tries to win things, rather than like Utd, Citeh, Chelski, who all try to BUY them.

And, he'll be making all those statements from the first lifeboat to hit the water.

Sometimes the 140 years are there.. sometimes they are not, depends on the angle. Our Great Dictator, as you might have noticed, can make the earth spin backwards in his dialectical jargon :rubchin:

Wait a minute.. I see what you did there  So how many football teams do we reckon there are in the UK? If 10% of them have been in the top 4 that's equally impressive :box:

The most attractive football, eh? Well this bloke must be one of the "put a bag over her head and she's one fine lady" kinda blokes
