I will disagree with this. It was one game. A sustained period of this will damage their 'brand' and almost certainly result in something occurring. It just needs to continue.

Don't get too deflated. It is the beginning of protest that will take time. Finally anti-Wenger banners on display at the Emirates. I'd be interested to know if they got confiscated or threatened to be.

Another problem with the ST holders not going to the match is the understandable fact that they decide not to go but many of them will then put their tickets on the exchange so they don't lose out, you might find that there were a lot more stay aways last night but those tickets were taken up by others which once again gives a false impression of actual numbers attending the match.

I disagree, most of the games this season have been near capacity despite the number of fans who have given up on the team.

Another fair point and actually I feel it suits the club if more and more long time ST holders don't renew, new ST holders are less likely to protest over prices, management, etc etc because they have in some cases waited a long time for the tickets, and finally getting your ST means a lot more than getting a renewed one to many.

I also believe that the newer generation of fans are becoming very much 'day trippers' where the experience is more important than the result, and i feel that fans who don't come on a regular basis are more likely to spend money on food, drink and in the Armoury than long term ST holders so over all it's a win win for the club as more old school fans become disenfranchised with modern day Arsenal PLC and move on.

It has not gone unnoticed. There is a whole Q & A about it in the DM this morning. Everybody noticed. Wenger has brushed it off. Come see the qualiteeee says the Great Man. Roll up, roll up..... PRICK!!

I love all the mind games in here. What fans should or should not do try to change things. It isnt going too change!! The only way it changes is Wenger gets sacked by the board or walks! there will always be "fans" willing too pay. Who they are long term loyal ST holders or football tourists is irrelevant to Arsenal PLC. As long as the money is coming in, no fucks are given!! The business model/ethic brand of our club is too big to be worried about such trivial things as paying fans. Its a vicious cycle money makes money, how they get there , irrelevant! As long as it continues, and it will.

Standard reaction to the reaction once again, this one from the BBC comments section:-

"I support a non-league club and we are in the process of being relegated. I've attended every home league game and the last one is tomorrow. Those who chose to stay away last night aren't proper supporters. They can protest all they like, but nobody has a divine right to success - look at Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City all of who have struggled in the league. Shut up and back your club!"

'best man for the job' shouldn't be just empty words. How can the 'best man for the job', be a man who lacks universal support, who isnt trusted, inspires no confidence, and whose presence creates a toxic and tense atmosphere?

My tits he is the best man for thr job. Infact, given the circumstances, he is the worst man for the job.

He wont survive 3 years. The Emirates will be trashed and vandalized if he pens a new deal.

I bet they haven't been lied to constantly or condescended by their manager over the course of 12 years and I'll almost guarantee you that they've had more than one manager, a different bloke or blokes to try new things. We are now just a group of fans who have tried everything else to get a point across and see not turning up as the only way to get a message across. All this 'I support a shit team, so I'm a better person' bollox pisses me off because the lower down you go, the more the fans matter. It's about treatment of fans by a club, dialogue and communication. . None of which we have had in the last 12 years at Arsenal.

Of course no one has that right - BUT what seems to be going over the heads of these dumbfucks is that we are NOT protesting because of the lack of Success...But the lack of Effort and the Mis-management of Our beloved Club. The world and his dog knows that no team can go unbeaten forever (49 games yes! - IF you are tHE Arsenal :barscarf: ) but to keep making the same wrong decisions season in - season out year after effing year - And the Profit Before Trophies Plan that IS in Place....THAT's is what we are against - And the reason for that lack of effort, success all in the name of profit plan is Wenger/Kroenke/Gazidis - All scumcunnts to a man who deserve to be &*%(+*** and then *7@^>=<" - Till they leave the club.

The only way he's going is if he gets enough abuse that he thinks it's not worth it anymore.
I went yesterday and was struck by the total apathy of people there. I wouldn't even call them AKBS as they don't seem to care if he leaves...their not bothered if he stays either. It's strange.

Giving up season tickets, not attending won't work. I would say there was 48-50k there last night...which all things considered isn't really that bad an attendance. When it comes to weekend games the majority of tickets going spare will be picked up.

I know people have their reasons for not going, I don't blame them, but I think this was a mistake that it's now too late to rectify.

When other teams want changes the fans force it...Scousers, mancs, geordies....even fucking Charlton are trying.
We gave up and left the club to jcls/tourists/akbs. I fear we have majorly fucked up and are now paying the price

Arsenal fans acting like spoilt children....They have played champions league every season in the last 16 years or so (think only Madrid and Barca have done that). What gives their fans the divine right to win the league every year?

Liverpool are as big a club and havent won the league for 26 years and you don't see them protesting at the club (ticket prices aside)
I'm sure they could get a Chelsea/Liverpool/Barcelona/Utd Official Arsene Wenger Supporters Group going. There could also sing 'There's only one Arsene Wenger' at their games too.
