I'm just waiting for Barack Bloody Obama to endorse Wenger while he's here.

"I hear one of your soccerball clubs is owned by one of our guys. I am reliably informed that you'll be at the back of the queue for success if you get rid of your coach"

Makes me die coming from a player who left the club. So he should advise fans who spend money following the club.
The worse part is, that in his 8 years here, he either won a trophy or reached a final every year, that's a pretty successful. Yet, as soon as we stopped challenging for the title, he fucked off. A guy who didn't accept top 4 finishes as good enough, but thinks the fans should.

You would think a player who froze in every single cup final that he played in, would only be delighted to play for a club that didn't look like they were going to be in any more finals

Was thinking the same, five finals played in no goals scored. But he was a World class player and let's not forget that. However he has no right to tell Arsenal fans how to feel and how to react to the malaise that is Arsene FC...
If one former player or pundit had to pay one penny from their pockets to watch Arsenal play then their attitude towards fans may change.

And if in Wenger's last season we see a repeat of the previous seasons, do they finally say he has to walk? Or do they come up with another reason to rationalize his tenure?

There is always an excuse in waiting.

Stan doesn't need an excuse. CL qualification i.e. Wenger's greatest ever achievement, has always be and will always be the rationale for a contract extension.....which is why Kroenke has to go as well TO1AW. Look at his track record with all the franchises he owns......fucking awful at worst, bang average at best

FREDDIE LJUNGBERG last night stuck the boot into Arsenal - revealing he quit because they have no chance of winning the title or European honours.

In a damning verdict on the troubled Gunners, Ljungberg said he moved to West Ham - because they have more ambition.

The Swede said: "Two years ago, when I signed my last contract, we talked a lot about the future and whether we were going to be bringing in a lot of big players.

Arsenal claimed that despite building a new stadium we were going to stay top in England and top in Europe. For me, that really hasn't happened.

"There were always clubs wanting to buy me every summer and I always stayed loyal - I wanted to do it with Arsenal.

"But this summer if felt like the end, unfortunately."

While rivals Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have been reinforcing significantly, Arsene Wenger is preparing to take them on with his kids plus unproven signings Eduardo da Silva and Bacary Sagna.

Ljungberg believes Arsenal will live to regret their stance - and warned: "You definitely need experience.

"The Premiership is the most difficult league in Europe to win. Of course you need youth as well to have the willingness and the hunger. But you need experience to lead the young people''.

Arsenal's biggest shareholder Danny Fiszman insisted again he has "no intention" of selling his 24 per cent stake with speculation mounting that billionaire Stan Kroenke is set to launch a takeover bid at the Emirates Stadium.
This was 9 years ago but so little has changed :banghead:

When Freddie left, he was past it.

Maybe so but I wasnt so much thinking of Freddie, more the situation that existed then .. and that still exists now.

- Arsenal having no chance of the PL or CL
- Arsenal lacking ambition
- Arsenal selling the future. It wasnt just fans they sold a lie to it was some of the players too
- The wrong balance in the team, in this case the balance between youth and experience

Can't wait for this to happen!

I actually think a lot of fans who are still loyal to Wenger realise we need change, but still wants him to go in so-called style, that is see his contract out, but if the extension comes true we could see a whole lotta fans joining the Wenger Out choir. And that would in return give him his truly deserved departure, to be hounded out.

Shshhiiiiiiiit.. 3 more years 3 more years. It could also mean that we lose a lot of fans to apathy and that the tourist take over will be complete

Maybe so, I'm just thinking that Freddie couldn't bare to think that his time was up really. Vieira certainly argued the same thing in 2005, I was firmly on Wenger's side then, but Patrick was right!

By that I meant that Vieira was right arguing that Wenger should have bought in World class players, to which Wenger replied, you weren't world class when I bought you then won nothing from then until 2014.

Funny how Wenger seems to know when everyone's time is up except his own.

If he gets an extension, it's pure proof that the club and fans are miles apart and that fan opinion means nothing to them. If he gets a new deal, then I honestly think we'll see full on brawls in the stands.
I'm hoping this is another PR thing from the club. Make it look like he had another deal but chose not to take it. It can therefore look like he chose to leave on his terms.
Just to make sure, I think it would be best to make a No new Contract banner.

It has been rumoured for most of the season, but it'd be a fucking disaster if The Old Fraud is still offered yet another undeserved contract. What is worse is if it's 'three further years' (from 2017-2020!) or three years from now (2019).

:suicide:

I hope protests continue for the rest of the season, regardless. Keep the pressure up, lads. If that intransigent old cunnt stays, in the face of growing protests from us 'peasants', he deserves all the abuse he can get and more. HOUND THE FUCKER OUT!
