ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Exactly. Nowhere to hide in the Sunderland team and even worse, he'll be expected to be the main man.

Can't wait to see the underhit, overhit and misplaced passes and playing his team mates into all sorts of trouble with his chronic distribution.

🚨 Newcastle United are in talks to sign Aaron Ramsdale from Southampton.

👉 Initial proposal: loan with an option to buy.
👉 Southampton push for a permanent deal.
👉 Arsenal hold a sell-on clause & hope for a full sale.

❌ No agreement yet on the structure.

I must admit, signing Gyokeres has really perked me up for the season.

Signing Madueke has spoiled things a bit, I will admit; especially for the price we paid, but if we add Eze AND a left winger (Rafael Leão would be game changer) then we really would be in business! :barscarf:

Me too - to the point that I would consider putting his name on the new jersey that I will buy (had stopped putting names on jersies cos few on here suggested that "older" fans shouldnt be doing that   ).

I will say though, that for me the success or failure of this window depends entirely on whether we get eze or not - with him (in the 10 position) and our attacking threat goes up massively imo even without a new left winger, but if we still have captain invisible "supplying" our front 3 this season, then it doesnt matter if we had prime pires, henry and freddie as our front 3 cos the supply line will be faulty

I know I said that I intend to try to cool my jets re the kid dowman, but fcuk me what a talent he is, and it makes the decision to sign the chav reject all the more baffling - yes I know he cant play premier league until he turns 16 (in December), but surely we have enough options to get us through until then ? Many of us were pissed last season at the way Nwanieri's game time was severely limited, but if this chav reject comes in and isnt playing well and is preventing Nwanieri and/or Dowman getting game time, then the cone boy will not see out this season cos the fans will revolt imo.

The more time goes by without announcing new contracts for saliba and nwanieri, the more concerned I am getting - yes I understand the need to get recruitments in fast, and the need to get rid of the dross too (not looking likely btw), but keeping our main players and prospects surely has to be a high priority too ??

Yep, all correct OBG and no quality around him to get him out of trouble and he'll be dropping the poor old Mackems in it big time. They've no idea what's awaiting them.

Lattes? I don't think they've even heard of instant coffee in Sunderland. You're right, they'll work Club Foot out very quickly.

On here we have McDowell sipping his lattes, no matter how much he denies it.

So let me get this right: Young Augie won't get a Number & Name on his New Shirt because us Oldies will take the piss? AND: Just so I'm clear on this other point, Latte either stands for Vadge Juice or Catona Cream? ... Or is it the pale fluffy Barista stuff?
