As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
"Since 1930, Arsenal's title-winning record has been worse with Arsene Wenger in charge (3 titles in 20 years, one per 6.7 years) than without him (10 titles in 59 years. One per 5.9 years)"
Of course, he's our "Greatest ever manager" right?

Its funny how the people who claim he is our best manager going by what he did in his early spell will not acknowledge he is also our worst manager when looking at with what he has done in his latter spell.
If you help to save someone from drowning and are lauded as a hero ... but years later you are responsible for that same person dying in a fire that you started ... are you still seen as only a hero?
Of course not but Martin Keown would probably think so
Fantastic result last night with spurs. Hoping now that Man.U beat Leicester (Leicester can afford it now) and eventually overtake us. I don't want Wenger getting CL again, it's all he has left and that needs to be taken away as well. More pressure on him
I am trying to work out this football thing.
After studying a man who built a club and managed for 30 plus years I have come up with the following thesis.
Results don't matter only quality of performance matters..Don't look at the league table just look at the quality.
It is unfair that opponents are fit and organised
It is unfair to play teams that have something to fight for.
If your scouting system fail to spot potential stars then it is pure luck that other clubs find them.
Being third is an achievement because the club is 140 years old and third would be ok any time in that history.
You can make your clubs history 10 years longer to emphasise a point..
All in all I am happy with what I learned in the last seven days.

Brady are you Arsene's speech writer by any chance?
Kroenke is obviously a cancer but I'll repeat: if Pep, Ancelotti, Klopp or even fucking Ranieri are in charge of Arsenal this season and Kroenke still owns the club, we win the league and nobody gives a toss. The example is there with the Glazers at ManYoo: appalling owners, Fergie still smashed it.
If you got Usmanov in as owner and kept Wenker though? You finish 4th and fail in the exact same way.
Kroenke is unambitious but isn't a hindrance like Cellino at Leeds: he gives the manager a huge wage bill, never denied him a penny and gives him complete control of sporting matters. That's better than Abramovich who wants to pick the team himself
1. Santi Cazorla cannot, under any circumstances, get a new contract. He's 31 with a knackered knee. He's done.
2. Wilshere. If Pep is serious about paying £40m then sell him. Giving him £140k a week, off the back of Walcott's joke deal would amount to a Royal piss-taking of the fans. Wilshere should be paying us to play after his constant crocks abs off-field shite

The main problem is obvious.
I agree with everything you say but the difference between our two majority share holders is that I can't see Usmanov tolerating this shit for longer than a couple of seasons let alone 5 years like Kroenke has.
Guess who has just got a phone call from the box office offering season tickets for next season - yes that's right, myself and the missus have both been told that we are likely to be offered the chance to become a season ticket holder this summer
Of course I fobbed them off by saying that it wouldn't be financially viable for me to take them up this summer and maybe if it was the following summer then I might be in a better position to sign up - naturally the guy told me that I wouldn't be allowed to defer as it wouldn't be fair to those behind me in the queue, and he also offered me the option of paying for them over a 7 or 10 month period (cant remember which ) but I again said it isn't possible at the mo.
Last thing before I put down the phone I asked him what number am I in the season ticket queue, and he told me that I was around the 8500 mark Basically approx. 8499 people ahead of me are going to be offered tickets and a sizeable portion will be rejecting that chance. Of course he tried to explain this away by suggesting that contact details for some of those people might be outdated and that for one reason or another some may not be able to purchase them - never one to miss an opportunity I asked if arsene wenger was one of those reasons, and he just repeated (in a nice way tbf) that there are a few different reasons. I finished up by telling him that I wouldn't buy a season ticket even if I could afford to, as long as wenger was there

Well done Augie. But wait I'm confused...aren't we often told here by apologists that fab discontent makes no difference since "we have a 40,000 waiting list"?
Jeeez, who woulda thought there aren't just thousands of gormless tits "waiting to take your place". It's almost as if nobody will pay over the odds to watch mediocre shite! Still....nothing we can do...punters be just lining up to watch Arsenal in the flesh
Sagna and Clichy in a CL semi final against RM. Who'd have thought it! I didn't know where to put this, so I thought Id put it here, blame Wenger and all.
